Rose

How bad could it be? That was what I asked myself an hour ago, right?

Sometimes I think that I jinx these shits that happen in my life I swear. I thought to myself as I squeezed my temples with my thumb and index finger. I was leaning against the table with both my elbows propped up and one hand on my forehead as I tried to pay attention to what the teacher was teaching to no avail.

My right leg was giggling up and down as I tried to suppress the urge to choke Jason to get him to stop talking.

Yes, I was actually considering using violence to solve this one.

My ears were probably bleeding with just how many times he'd called me Beautiful Little Rose in the last hour.

Trust me, I'd tried everything, but the guy's chattering just would not stop. From subtly telling him that I'd like if we continued the chit-chat afterward and not during the lecture, to asking him to straight-up shut the hell up, none had worked.

Sometimes it seemed like he wasn't even paying attention to what I was saying and was just talking to himself.

If it was some other period, I'm pretty sure the teacher would've already thrown him out of the class in the first 5 minutes but unfortunately for me, that wasn't happening. I don't know if it was due to the fact that the classroom was really big and Mr. Lennon couldn't hear the noise or it was because he did not care enough, Jason was getting away with it.

I lifted my head up and was aimlessly staring outside the window rethinking my life choices that had led me to here when I felt a movement at the corner of my eye. Jade was looking at me with guilt written all over her face and I sighed. It wasn't her fault anyway, she did try to warn me but it was my dumb ass that didn't listen to her.

Could you blame me though? I don't know what I had expected when Jade told me that she had a step-brother, but this certainly wasn't it.

Honestly, Jason wasn't too bad on the eyes with friendly brown eyes similar to Jade's and a charming smile, but to my utter dismay, the boy could not stop talking.

"What do you think, beautiful?" Came that godforsaken voice again and when I didn't respond, he had the courage to playfully nudge me with his elbow.

He's Jade's brother you can't kill him. He's Jade's brother you can't kill him.

I chanted inside my head as I gritted my teeth and answered, "Yeah Jason, totally."

That was the response he needed to go back to whatever he was talking about.

I saw Amber's shoulders shaking as she tried to suppress dying of laughter there and then clearly enjoying my misery.

My planning of multiple elaborate schemes to get back on Amber and make her suffer like I did was disturbed by the bell ringing, indicating that the class was over.

"Oh wow, the class is over already?" Jason commented looking surprised.

"Right?" I replied turning to my left with a tight smile which I could assure you might have looked terrifying with my eyes widened more than usual and the slight twitching of the left end of my smile, but Jason seemed unbothered and grinned back.

"I'm looking forward to the next class with you, Little Rose."

I stiffly nodded as I gathered my belongings and left.

I didn't even stop by the lockers to put away my stuff as I went straight towards the cafeteria, desperate to be among familiar faces for a minute to calm down.
