Rose
As soon as I opened the door, I was greeted with the warm and beautiful weather outside. I had a strong feeling that today was going to be a good day. Closing the door behind me, I wondered if the devil was here yet. Seeing Aaron's sleek black car parked on the driveway, I broke into a happy grin. He was leaning on the door of his car and was busy scrolling on his mobile. I bit my lip trying to stifle my laugh and clasped my hands together in anticipation as I quietly jogged towards Aaron from the behind to give him a jump scare.
"Uh-uh babycakes, I know you're behind me." Aaron turned around flipping his messy blond hair, a cocky smirk adorning his perfect face.
I internally groaned as my plan to scare him had miserably failed but as another idea popped into my mind, I smiled evilly.
Aaron's smirk falls off his face and his vibrant green eyes go wide as noticed my expression but before he could figure out what was happening, I jumped in his arms and flung my arms around his neck crashing him in a bear hug.
"I missed you!" I squealed, squeezing his neck a bit more than necessary, which to mention was purely accidental.
"Rose! Let go of me, I can't breathe." Aaron croaked trying to get me off him.
"Oh my god! I'm so sorry." I exclaimed letting go of his neck. Aaron started to cough and I thumped his back harder than necessary because you see, I cared about him so much.
He narrowed his eyes at me, " I know you did that on purpose, Flower girl."
"I love you too, now let's get in the car my love.", I said in a sing-song voice and stuck my tongue out at him as I skipped towards the other side of the car.
Aaron grumbled under his breath as he got in the driver's seat and started the car. After a while, I sneaked a peek at him to see if he was mad but he simply winked at me and gave me a dazzling smile.
This is how I and Aaron were. Though he was a few years older than me, we would fight and annoy the hell out of each other like siblings but never got mad at each other for long.
Aron focused on his driving while I simply stared out of the window as we passed the neighbourhood. After a few minutes, I turned towards him and asked, "Soo.. where are we going?"
"To my house, Mom wanted to see you before you went. I know you wanted to go out and meet up with Claire as well but since you weren't feeling well last night, I called her over as well so that we all could see a movie together or something. " A small smile appeared on his face.
"That was so thoughtful, Thank you!" I exclaimed as I smiled happily.
Claire and I met when we were in 5th grade. She was new to the school then, and the teacher made her sit next to me. We had clicked instantly and were always together through school life. Even though Aaron didn't particularly enjoy Claire's company that much, it was really sweet that he called her over so that I could spend some time with her as well.
I sat up straighter as we approached the familiar neighbourhood and Aaron drove through the gateway and I could already see Claire's car parked in the shade.
"Go meet mom first, she might be in the kitchen and I'll join you right after I leave the car in the garage."
"Okay."
