"Someone looks cheerier," Amber commented with a sly smile once I caught up to her in the cafeteria.

"Shut up." I rolled my eyes. Even though I dismissed her, her words were still playing in my mind as we waited in line to buy lunch.

I had to admit that I did feel lighter, like the dark clouds looming over my head had vanished after that brief encounter with Rhyan.

The effect this guy had on me.

After we got our lunch, we headed towards our table, where we were soon joined by our other friends. Ivan let it slip that Rhyan had some work with the coach so I didn't let Rhyan's absence bother me too much.

"Man, I really miss Lynda," Amber voiced as we were walking back to class after lunch.

"Me too." The last time I'd seen Lynda was at the party she had hosted at her house almost a week ago, where according to what I'd heard from Amber, Lynda had suffered a nasty fall and hurt her leg.

"Have you visited her? Is she doing better?" Jade questioned softly with a concerned face.

"I had given her a visit yesterday, and yes, she is doing better." Amber trailed off with a farther look in her grey eyes.

"That's great to know." "I'm glad," Jade and I voiced out.

An idea popped into my brain, and I perked up, "Hey! Today's Friday, right?"

"Yeah, it is," Amber confirmed.

"Why don't we girls go visit her at home? I'm sure she'd love some company."

"Sounds like a plan. You down too?" Amber looked at Jade, who nodded back at her eagerly.

"Sure."

"Okay then, I'll ask Victoria to come as well." You could see the excitement in Amber's steps as she skipped instead of walking normally on the way to class.

The teacher entered just as we sat down at our table and opened our textbooks.

Midway into the period, I felt this itch on the back of my neck, so I rubbed the spot with my fingers.

"Why does it feel like-"

"-like someone is glowering in your direction?" Amber suggested with a yawn.

"What?" I asked feeling lost.

"Because that creature is." Amber inclined her head to the left and I turned my head as I let my eyes follow in that very direction.

"Oh." That girl Jessica who was desperately in need of a root touching for her blonde hair was seated a few rows behind us on the other corner of the class and was glaring at me.

"I swear I can feel the heat from behind too. Are you sure that bitvh is not using some black magic on us?" Amber fanned her neck and shifted in her seat uncomfortably.

"Have you been watching too many horror movies or something?" Jade shook her head in disbelief.

"Well, I don't know about that but Jessica sure doesn't look too happy," I replied to Amber, facing the front of the class again.
