Rose
Where is this annoying sound coming from? I grimaced as the irritating knocking sound continued threatening to ruin my lovely sleep.
After a few seconds, the knocking stopped and I sighed as I snuggled my face into the soft pillow I was resting my head against and went back to sleep.
Sadly, my peace was short-lived and I jumped up in my bed when someone started banging on my door loudly.
"Rosie! You need to get up! You're gonna be late for school!" Amber yelled from outside my door.
Shit. My room was still dark as I hadn't opened the windows yet. I stretched my hand and grabbed my phone from the nightstand reading the time. I had overslept.
The banging continued and I thew the comforter off me and ran across the marbled floor barefoot to get to the door.
"Jesus!" I exclaimed narrowly avoiding getting hit by Amber's fist that was banging the door restlessly.
"Good morning Rosie," Amber smirked after looking at my annoyed face and I scowled.
"Morning"
"Huh. You aren't one to oversleep on school days. Guess yesterday really tired you out." She had a knowing look in her eyes and I almost choked.
Of course, she would've already known that Rhyan had dropped me home yesterday. I wanted to smack my forehead. But I felt a bit relieved as she didn't look like she knew the reason why, and I would like to keep it that way.
"Well yeah, I guess so too..." I trailed off as I tried to divert the conversation and looked anywhere but her when I noticed that she was already dressed.
"Enough about me, you look different today." I gestured towards her and wiggled my eyebrows. Amber's playful grey eyes widened slightly before she blinked and let out an embarrassed cough.
She was wearing a pastel green halterneck romper with white sandals. Amber was someone who wouldn't put effort into her looks unless someone forced her to, not that she needed to anyway cause she was already gorgeous, but today it looked like she had willingly done that. Upon closer inspection of her face, it seemed that not only had she put on mascara and clear lip gloss, the ponytail she had put her wavy brown hair into also had small braids on her sides that added to the hairstyle.
"Different as in a good different or," Amber asked looking away as she touched the back of her neck. Aww.
"Of course a good different. You look even cuter than you usually do."
"Cute? Me? Seriously?"Amber rolled her eyes threw her hands in the air before continuing, "Cute is something that comes to people's minds when they look at you with your doll-like face with big brown eyes, not when you look at me, silly."
I pouted and Amber reached forward and pulled my cheek with her right hand. I swatted her hand away and she grinned.
"Anyway, please hurry. Lynda is going to kill me. She had asked me to come get her early." Amber groaned.
"Oh no. If you wait for me we're definitely going to be late. Why don't you go pick Lynda up without me?" I suggested, feeling guilty that I didn't wake up on time.
"You wouldn't mind?"
"Not at all."
"Cool."
Amber left closing the door behind her and I started to ready. I took a quick shower and sat down in front of the huge mirror in my bathroom as I brushed through my long damp dark hair. I didn't bother styling my hair as I was already running late. After my simple makeup was done, I pulled on a pair of light blue slim low waisted denim jeans. I completed the look with a white crop top and White Air Forces.
