Chapter 13

Ellie's POV:

We've done passing our membership form sa school council's office. Sila kasi 'yung mga nago-organize ng game. Hulog sila ng langit. Ngayon, mas mapapadali lang ang lahat para mapag-selos lang si Blade.

"Good morning, everyone! Tomorrow na ang start ng mga activities for the couples. Let me re-read the participants again, para hindi tayo magulo sa mismong D-day." the SSC secretary called names. Almost 20 pairs.

"Grey Elliot and Ellie Miller..." nakita ko naman sa peripheral vision ko na
napa-tingin sa gawi namin si Blade at ang naglalakad na pulbo, pero hindi ko siya tinignan pabalik.

"Next, Blade and Shelley.." I looked at them and gave them my deadly glare.

"Do you think our plan will work?" tanong ko sa lalaking katabi ko na ngayon'y nakatingin lang sa kawalan. Poker face. Malalim ang iniisip.

"I don't know." sabi lamang nito atsaka bumuntong hiningang tumingin sa kawalan.

"So bawat week, magkakaroon ng elimination round. You are all eighteen couples. Bawat week, may dalawa o tatlong activities. Ang mae-eliminate will have a simple pre-marriage. Fake, but still, may contract. If naman may lumabag sa mga rules and regulations, automatically magkakaroon ng consequences. Be ready for that. I'm sure, wala naman sigurong lalabag sa mga rules since you all look so in love with each other..." tumawa naman ang lahat, pero hindi kami ni Grey...

Yeah. He's Grey. Kanina ko lang nalaman nang nag-sign up kami. Funny right? My partner na hindi ko alam ang pangalan..

"Rule number one, of course, no cheating. You all know what I mean, right? Dapat, kung sino lang ang partner mo, siya lang ang kasama mo sa bawat task. Pero, magkakaroon ng ilang mga activities na ide-deactivate ang rule." nag-igay ang mga couples na nakapaligid sa amin. Si Grey, heto. Nakatingin lang sa kawalan.

"Number two! You must all be in love couples. There's no such thing as fake here, right? Feeling ko wala naman since you are all look compatible to each other's company." kinilabutan ako sa sinabi ng SSC officer. I feel so guilty.

"And last, ang mananalo ay pwedeng mag-wish ng kahit ano. As in kahit ano. It's not a rule, but it's a challenge for every one. If you have a dream, you must work for it! So, see you all tomorrow, love birds!" nagpalakpakan ang mga couples, atsaka na umalis ang nagsasalita sa stage.

Napangiti ako ng mapait at tinignan ang kasama ko na ngayon ay nakatingin din sa akin. He has the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen after Blade's eyes.

Ellie, don't compare them. Please.

"Coffee?" nabigla ako sa sinabi niya. 8 never thought he would be insisting like this for a coffee. It's ten in the morning, so I think coffee would be perfect.

"Are you sure?" hindi parin kasi ako makapaniwala na niyayaya niya akong mag-kape. Knowing him, he won't even smile at you if it's not life and death situation.

"Ayaw mo? It's fine. I can go there by myself." paalis na sana ito nang hilain ko ang damit niya at nginitian siya ng matamis.

"Libre mo ba?" hindi siya sumagot pero hinila niya ako papunta sa kotse niya.

Nakarating kami sa isang café na hindi naman kalayuan sa school, pero hindi rin naman walking distance. I've never been here so everything is new to me. The café's theme is retro.
The name of the drinks were musical instruments. I ordered guitar cappuccino and he ordered the same.

"You like cappuccino?" I asked while sipping it.

"Not that much. Milk tea is my favorite." nanlaki ang mga mata ko. Favorite ko din ang milktea.

"Then why didn't you order milk tea?" he just shrugged.

"Ikaw? Favorite mo?" is he really asking me?!

"Uhm... Milk tea too.." hiya kong sabi, dahil baka akala niya ay ginagaya ko lamang siya. At ganoon nga ang nangyari gaya ng inaasahan ko. Tinignan niya ako ng masinsinan.

"I'm not copying your taste, duh." sabi ko at inikutan siya ng mata.

"I'm not even saying anything, duh." he imitated the way I said it. Oh, jeez. He's cute---not as cute as Blade..

Oh, shut up! Blade na naman ba, Ellie? Tama na, please.

"Oh, what's with the sudden gloomy face?"

"Ah... Wala, 'no. Wait. Why don't we order sweets?" agad itong umiling.

"Huwag na muna. Maybe next time." sabi nito kaya tumango na lamang ako.

Matapos naming ubusin ang inumin namin ay nagpa-hatid na ako sa school, dahil may class pa ako after lunch. Bukas pa lamang kasi magsa-start ang activity para sa mga couples, kaya hindi pa kami excused.

"Wala ka ng class niyan?" hindi siya sumagot.

"Anong course mo?" hindi parin siya sumasagot.

Now, he's back again to being cold and silent. Grabe, ang bilis naman niyang magpalit ng ugali. I don't get him. Mabait, tapos biglang masungit to hindi mo na maka-usap.

"Hey, I'm asking you..." ulit ko, pero wala parin itong response.

"Grey lang ba ang pangalan mo? 'Cause me, hindi lang Ellie ang pangalan ko my first name is---"

"Tahimik. Please." hindi nalang ako nagsalita hanggang sa bumaba na ako sa kotse, dahil nandito na kami sa school.

He didn't even bother to open the door for me, but I didn't care. Hindi naman niya iyon responsibility, so wala akong karapatang mag-demand.

"Thanks for the coffee." then I smiled at him, but just stared at me like crazy. I don't know why.

"Hey. I said thanks. Any reply?" hindi parin natinag ang tingin niya sa akin.

"You look familiar.." mahina iyon, pero narinig ko ng bahagya.

"Huh? Anong sabi mo?" tinanong ko siya ulit upang siguraduhin ang narinig ko.

"Nothing. Go. You'll be late." sabi nito kaya sumang-ayon ako, dahil tama siya. Male-late na naman ako.

"Bye! See you!" kumaway ako paalis sa kaniya at wala siyang sinabi at naglakad papunta sa ibang direksyon.

Obviously, he's not studying the same major I have. I almost run to our classroom, when I bumped in to someone. His scent is so familiar. And yeah. My instincts were never wrong.

"Blade, out of my way. I'm about to be late." hindi naman ito umalis, so ako na ang nagpalit ng direksyon, pero humarang siya.

"If sana hindi ka sumama sa lalaking 'yon, hindi ka sana late ngayon." hindi ko siya sinagot at nagpatuloy sa paglalakad, pero pilit niya akong hinaharangan.

"Mind your own business, Blade. We're done. Umalis ka sa harapan ko." sabi ko pero hindi siya natinag.

"You're still the Ellie who's not worth loving. You're selfless and a worthless daughter." he left a scar on my heart, before he got out of my sight.
