Chapter 36

Callum Grey Elliot P.O.V.

I woke up again today when I don't even plan to. It sucks being alive when you wish to just vanish away.  I just want to disappear without killing myself, but why am I not dying? 

Why am I still living this colorless world where I pretend that I breathe when I'm really suffocating? 

"I gotta go."

"Do well always, hijo. Don't disappoint us." It was the only thing that comes from their mouth.

It's easy, right?

You just need to achieve anything. Everything. Be perfect. Mistakes don't have a room for my self.

It's freaking easy.

Those were just some of the favorite lines ng mga kumupkop sa akin. I was an orphan, pero may umampon sa akin. Mag-asawa sila. I was only 7 years old then and they were in their 40s. Hindi sila magka-anak and the rest is a history.

"Okay po." I politely answered as I entered the car and drive my way to the Hospital.

It was a long story. Akala ko okay na lahat kapag sinabi ko ko na kay Ellie ang dahilan kung bakit kailangan ako ni Phia. It was that night when I told her everything.

Flashback

"What happened?" Ellie asked while sipping her coffee. Nandito kami ngayon sa veranda ng bahay nila Elisse.

It felt nice. Talking with her while having coffee. This is what I dreamed for. A kind of time like this with my Phia.

"I don't know how you don't have any idea about what's happening, but your cousin is sick, Ellie." Ibinaba niya ang mug niya at tumingin sa akin hinihintay ang susunod kong sasabihin.

"She's asking me to always come over, because sabi niya lumalakas siya kapag nasa tabi niya ako and I just can't let her down because---" tumawa siya nang malakas. She seems like she's not taking my story seriously.

"Ellie..."

"She's just pretending, Cal." Her words came out strongly. She's mad, but she remained calm.

"No..."

"Yes."

"The Doctor said that---"

"Grey, she's crazy! Kaya niyang gawin lahat just to have you. Kaya niyang palabasin na namamatay na siya, kung 'yun lang ang paraan para mapuntahan mo siya. Huwag kang magpa-loko sa kaniya." She said out of frustration.

"It's easy for you to say that, kasi hindi naman ikaw ang nasa kalagayan ko, Ellie." Nabigla naman siya sa sinabi ko.

"No. You weren't getting my point, Grey. I'm telling you that nagawa nga niyang mapaniwala ka na siya si Sophia. What more now? Ano ka? Pushover?" I was even more shocked on what she've said.

Mas mainit pa sa kape ang sagutan naming dalawa. Hindi niya naiintindihan ang point ko at pinipilit ko siyang intindihin. Kahit naman hindi sila magkasundong magpinsan, I think it's wrong for her to say that pinepeke niya lang ang sakit niya.
