Chapter 24:

It's friday and it's the day na aalis ang halos lahat ng college students papuntang Pampanga. It's a seminar, but they will surely treat it as a vacation.

"I'm so excited for Pampanga!" masayang sigaw ni Elisse habang inaayos ang dadalhin niyang bag.

"Me too..." bumuntong-hininga naman si Ellie.

It's been awhile.

Natahimik na lamang si Ellie.

"Excited ka ba, Ellie? Bakit parang hindi naman? Smile ka naman diyan!" napilitan naman siyang ngumiti.

"Kulang lang ako ng tulog, kaya parang mabigat ang pakiramdam ko. Matutulog nalang ako sa biyahe mamaya." akala ni Ellie maniniwala ang best friend niya sa kaniya, pero nagkakamali siya.

"I know there's something that's bothering you about us going there, Ellie. But if you're not ready to tell me what that is, it's fine. Basta, ha? Kapag hindi mo na kaya, iyak mo sa akin." Yes. She's indeed her best friend.

Hindi niya alam kung bakit sa dami na nilang napag-daanan, hindi niya masabi-sabi sa best friend niya ang nangyari sa Pampanga. Ayaw niya. Takot siya. Hindi pa siya handa, kasi sa tuwing naiisip niya ang mga pangyayaring iyon, paulit-ulit na namamatay ang puso niya.

"Sorry, Lisse. Hindi ko talaga kaya.." tumango naman ito at hinagod ang likuran ni Ellie.

"Tara na?" lumabas na sila para pumunta na sa school.

Nang makarating sila, halos nandoon na rin ang mga sasama sa Pampanga. May mga may dalang maleta— malalaking maleta, meron din namang simpleng bag lang.

Nagsuot si Ellie ng plain white rubber shoes at nagsuot ng tattered jeans na pinarisan niya ng camisole na pinagsisihan niya, dahil malamig sa bus at ang jacket niya ay nasa pinaka-ilalim pa ng bagahe niya.

Umupo siya sa tabi ng bintana. Hindi sila magka-bus number ni Elisse, dahil ang mga kasama niya ay ang mga co-members niya sa activity na pinasukan niya. Right. Matutuloy ang plano na magkakasama sila sa isang kwarto.

Hindi siya mapakali, dahil hindi niya alam ang mararamdaman niya, once na nakatapak siya sa lupa ng Pampanga. That would be painful for her. Sobra.

Tumawag si Sophia kaninang umaga kay Grey para sunduin siya sa bahay nila, which was Ellie's home actually. She was just there staying and sleeping at Ellie's room. What an actual bitch.

Sophia...

Yes, he's being nice to her, because of the fact that Phia is her nickname and... he misses his Phia so much. More than anything in this world.

Agad na pinapasok si Grey sa bahay at umupo siya sa sofa. Nang mag-muni-muni siya ay nahagip niya sa mata niya ang isang ipis.

He didn't feel any disgust. Nilapitan niya ito at pinulot. A tear escaped from his right eye. And he knows that once a tear fell from the right eye first, it's a tear of joy. And he's happy right now.

Ilang minuto rin siyang nakatayo roon habang pinagmamasdan ang ipis.

"Sorry, I was checking if may nakalimutan ako. So, let's go?" hindi siya gumalaw, instead he walked straight to Sophia and hugged her as tight as he could.

"I've missed you..." he sobbed.

"What—"

"I've been looking for you, nandito ka lang pala. Why didn't you—"

"What are you talking about, Grey?" itinulak siya ng bahagya ni Sophia, kaya kumalas siya sa yakap at hinarap ang babae.

"Call me Cal. Don't call me Grey. I'm Cal, Phia..." napanganga naman si Sophia.

"C-cal..."

"Yes, Phia. I'm Cal.." hindi napigilan ni Grey at niyakap niyang muli si Sophia.

"Uhm.. I can't breathe..."

"Sorry." Sophia gestured that it's fine with her.

"Do you still remember this?" Grey saw a disgusted look in Phia's eyes, but he ignored it. Maybe she's still scared with cockroaches until now.

"I... don't..."

"You don't?"

"I mean, I can't forget that thing... Where did you find this...?" nakahinga naman ng maayos si Grey. Finally. His Phia.

"I found it here sa sahig niyo. I still can't believe I found you.."

Sophia was still confused, but she's quick witted that's why she automatically got what Grey is assuming. That she's Phia her long lost childhood love. Of course, how wouldn't she know about that when all of Ellie's stuff was mostly about that Cal guy from the province.

Oh, gosh. What a small world. What a nice way to start a new day. Her being his long lost love. She is in love with Grey and with this mind set he has right now, they'll probably end up together.

Yes. That's right, Sophia. Be a bitch to that Ellie. She doesn't deserve even just a smile of happiness after all.

Ngumiti siya at umalis na sila ng bahay na namamaga pa ang mata ni Grey. He must be so happy to found out that her first love is with him right now. Kinilig si Sophia sa naisip niya.

That's right, Grey. Think more of me. Mahinang sabi ni Sophia sa isip niya.

Nagmamadali namang silang makarating sa mga busses, dahil hindi agad sila naka-alis sa biglaang pangyayari.

Lover? Yes. He found his first love. His Phia. His long lost love, Phia.

"Grey—I mean Cal, how long is the traveling hours from Manila to Pampanga?" napanganga si Grey.

"Are you sure that you don't know? Phia, you..."

"I know, I... I just kinda forgot about it, b-because.. Well, it's been a long time.. My memory isn't that good..." napatango naman ang binata.

Good alibi, Phia.

"Almost two hours." sinagot parin niya ang dalaga.

He still can't believe until now. Fresh pa sa isipan niya. He's happy. Because he finally found his happiness. Oo, tinuturing niyang kaligayahan ang babaeng hinahanap niya at naiwan niya noong bata pa siya.

"We're here!" he smiled. Naunang lumabas ng sasakyan si Grey para pagbuksan si Sophia ng sasakyan which is he wished he had done earlier, kung alam niya lang sana agad.

"Don't be too excited.. baka madapa ka." Grey was worried because Sophia was jumping in happiness.

"I'll help you with your bags." agad namang ipinasa sa kaniya ni Sophia ang mga gamit niya and she happily wrapped her arm around his.

Napadako naman ang tingin ni Ellie sa bagong dating na sasakyan na napag-alaman niyang si Grey. She just woke up from her nap and she saw Grey opened the car's door for a girl. The girl was wearing tight above the knee dress that's hugging every curves of her body and she was jumping, but from what Ellie saw, Grey stopped her and she did stop.

At nang humarap sila para tumungo sa mga busses, it was her freaking cousin giving her bags to Grey and happily clinging her arms to Grey's.

Parang isang sampal sa kaniya na makitang naka-ngiti si Grey sa demonyita niyang pinsan. It hurts more than her being kicked out of their own house.

She didn't know that Grey being with other girl would pinch her heart, and knowing that the girl he's smiling with is her bitch cousin who's ready to steal everything from her is killing her thousand times.

Now, she can tell.. she's heart broken even though he's not hers.

He was never his boy friend, but she showed her what do butterflies feel inside her stomach and the feeling that someone is loving you ang truly cares for you.

But now, it was all gone.. She guess, it is all over now...
