The Bruiserweight

You look around the crowd chanting your name as you smile. You promised Shane that you would fight a mysterious fighter that he would pick, but you wanted to up the challenge.

You: Last week, I made a promise to Shane McMahon. I usually hate taking promises, but because this county, The United Kingdom holds a special place in my heart, I will keep this promise. Now if Shane McMahon, my favorite McMahon, picked a challenger, I should impress him, and all of you. This challenger will be fighting me in an Intercontinental Championship match! So, Mr. Opponent why don't you come out and lets put on a show?

You throw the mic on the floor and you take off your coat. A theme plays in the arena and the crowd explodes.

Micheal Cole: Can it be!? From WWE's NXT UK brand, the NXT UK champion Pete Dunne!

Graves: This is the second time Pete Dunne has competed in the main roster. Pete has held the UK championship for over 600 days! Imagine the headlines if Pete Dunne wins the Intercontinental Championship and takes it to NXT UK!

Micheal: But it depends if Pete Dunne can take out Nightshift!

Pete walks down to the ring and the crowd chants his name. He gets inside the ring and you two have a stare down. Pete Dunne does his pose with the championship while you lift the Intercontinental Championship. You walk back to your corner while you still stare at Pete. You give the championship to the Ref as Pete lays the championship on the steel steps. You lean back on your corner while Pete takes off his coat. The Ref signals for the bell to ring and it is. You and Pete walk around the ring as the crowd chants for Pete's name. You two lock up and you slip behind Pete. You wag your finger at him and he charges at you. You land a high knee to his face and you throw him in your corner. You jump for a corner splash, but Pete throws a hard left hook. You fall down and Pete goes for the pin but you kick out before a 1 count. Pete grabs your arm and slams it on the mat floor. He starts to stomp on your limbs and your crawl over to your corner. Pete stomps your neck and starts to push his foot in your neck. The Ref starts the 5 counts and Pete let you breathe. He picks you up and lands some chops to you. You caught the 4th chop and slap him. You land a clothesline on him and you start your come back. You run off the ropes and you and another clothesline. You picked up Pete and threw him out the ring and you got ready for a Tope Suicida. You jump over the middle rope and you get ready to hit Pete, but Pete lands a forearm smash. He throws you back into the ring and he slides under the bottom rope. He picks you and lands a Snap German Suplex on you. He picks you up and throws you on the ropes again and lands a Four Star Forearm. The crowd cheers at Pete gets ready to land Bitter End on you. You get up and Pete lands the Bitter End on you. Pete jumps up and starts to laugh at you. He grabs your chin and gets you to your knees.

Pete: This is a man Alexa likes? I guess she's desperate for anyone...

Pete picks you up and gets ready to land the Better End. (Pumphandle Kneeling Reverse Piledriver) Pete lifts you up, but you power out and you land an Inverted DDT. You start to stomp Pete's gut, but your right leg gives up on you. You limp over to the corner and you expose your knee and you get ready for a knee smash. Pete gets on his knees and you run over, but Pete catches your knee and rolls up and maneuvers himself and lands a Bitter End on you. Pete crawls over to you and places his right arm on your chest.

Crowd:1....2...

You kick out and the crowd explodes. Pete picks you up and grabs your chin.

Pete: You Son of a Bitch! Stay down before I end your career.

Pete goes for a right hook but you dodge it and you land a superkick. Pete is still landing and you run off the ropes for a basement dropkick to his legs. You struggle to get up, but you limp over to your corner and you get ready for Pete to get on his knee. Pete gets on his knee and you land your knee smash. You pick him up for a suplex double-knee backbreaker. You land it and you get back up. You get on the top rope and you look down at Pete with the crowd roaring. You jump off the ropes and land a Phoenix Splash. You pick him up and you land Nightmare on him and you go for the cover.

Ref:1....2....3!

The crowd cheers as the ring announcer announced that you retained your title. You grab the Intercontinental Championship and you see Pete getting back on his knee. He grabs the UK Championship and you two look at each other. You bite the title strap and you do Pete Dunne's pose. Pete does the same and the crowd cheers.

Graves: A sign of respect for the two! These two hit hard and it is surprising that they are still standing after this match!

Cole: Now Nightshift will be fighting later tonight for the Smackdown Live Tag Team Championships with his partner Shinsuke Nakamura! Will The Shadows of the Fallen Sun be victorious or will they fall? We will see later tonight on Smackdown Live.

Backstage

You and Alexa hug each other in the back while AJ went out for his promo against AJ. You kiss her forehead and you place the title on the table.

Alexa: Are you ok? You took some bad hits in your match.

You: Sore, but I'm fine. How was your promo with Asuka? I only heard cheers from the crowd.

Alexa: All I can say is that the crowd is split between us.

You: Well looks like Smackdown has some Alexa fans. Well, I still have one more match and then I'm done... so why don't we keep talking?

You and Alexa sit down on a chair and watch AJ's promo against "The New" Daniel Bryan. You watch as AJ throw a punch at Daniel and a brawl breaks out.

You: So Alexa, Christmas is coming up and I was wondering, what would you like to do?

Alexa: Well I wanted to go over to Florida and be with my family, but it's too late for that... We could invite some friends. Finn, Becky, Nia, and some of your friends could come over!

You: Sounds good to me! Besides, this would be our first Christmas together!

Alexa: I'm glad we're still together... You're my soulmate i guess... Hey, we've been dating for almost 1 year... When did you realize that you liked me?

You: It may sound cheesy but it was really the first time i saw you backstage... I was told that we would be in a tag match and I really had feelings. When we did our Ride Along episode and I told you about my career... I felt like we grew closer together...

Alexa: I felt the same... It was really nice to know about your life before fame... And really everyone knows about my life. I was really comfortable with you after I knew you weren't like those guys who wanted to get in my pants.

You: Well its nice to get in there...

Alexa: I can imagine... But I felt happy to be with you and actually move in! It's been amazing to be with you so far.

You kiss Alexa and a producer calls for you to the Gorilla Position. You say bye to Alexa and you grab the Intercontinental Championship.

10 Minutes later

Cesaro holds you while Sheamus gets ready for a Brogue Kick. Sheamus runs over and gets ready to Brogue Kick, but you pull Cesaro in front of you and he lands a Brogue Kick on Cesaro. You superkick Sheamus and you put him on the top rope. You land a top rope Hurricanrana on Shinsuke's knees. Sheamus grabs his back and you two run over to a different corner. You guys land your Kinshasa Knee Smash. You pin Sheamus and the ref starts to count.

Crowd: 1....2....3! YEAH!!!

The crowd explodes as you two grab the tag team championships. You put both the Intercontinental Championship on your right arm while you put the Tag Team Championship on your left. You had a black eye after one of Cesaro's uppercuts got your right eye. It wasn't swollen, but there was black around your eye. You smiled away as the show ends.
