He wasn't sure if the bright glimmer in her eyes were reflections of the fireworks bursting in the dark, summer sky or if those were simply how she had always reacted whenever it does. She makes one of those faces where she doesn't even notice how wide her grin is, beaming in amazement at the skies sparking with bright lights. Clearly absorbed into the fireworks that she didn't notice how Tsukishima's eyes were on her, staring sideways.

It was that same, blissful smile she makes whenever she eats her favorite pound cake or reading one of Tsukishima's marine encyclopedias - it was angelic. Her face brightens, filled with wonder and excitement, a fairly rare occasion that never fails to make his heart flutter.

One thing that's making the blonde let out a sigh in frustration: she can't read the fucking mood.

You see, the rest of the club members planned on watching the fireworks by the fountain at the square, meeting them there at nine o'clock sharp. Them? Well...They had other plans. It was actually Tsukishima who proposed the idea, telling Ayame bluntly that he wanted to watch the fireworks at the abandoned park located nearby instead. Knowing that she's not that fond of crowded places, she agreed.

Which brings us back to the situation: Ayame and Tsukishima sitting on top the monkey bars, Ayame's feet dangling off the floor by roughly five feet as she watched the bright colors erupt from the sky. The cool metal bar feels nice against her grasp, keeping herself stabilized. Tsukishima is getting impatient. Fast. He starts by inching his hand closer to hers and gently lacing his calloused fingers with her dainty ones, to which she obliged, though her attention at the sky didn't falter one bit.

Damn it...This was the sole reason why he wanted to watch the fireworks alone with her: so that he gets to kiss her. Without any disturbance or unwanted spectators whatsoever. But God forbids him as he can't bring himself to snap her off in such an ecstatic state, he just can't.

Take the fucking hint, Ayame Yamamoto.

After red, fiery sparks popped in the sky, she finally, blessedly, glanced sideways to see him staring back at her. Tsukishima had this frustrated expression that clearly sends a let's-kiss-goddammit message, to which she grinned goofily as a reply before leaning in planting a light peck on the cheeks.

"That's it? Jesus Christ...All those waiting for that?" He became pouty, narrowing his golden eyes on her. Clearly unimpressed by her actions.

She raised her eyebrows slightly in shock, not fully realizing what he meant. "Wh-"

Her lips were captured by his, failing to finish her question. At first she stood there in shock as the blonde brushed a lock behind her ear before returning the kiss with just as much force. She swore her heart swelled up, throbbing and beating loudly in the midst of the loud booming of fireworks. The kiss was slow. Passionate. Radiating with warmth, sending sparks down their spines. Its sensation was truly intoxicating.

When their lips pulled away from each other, she felt her knees wobble and her grip on the metal bars weaken. Because damn. Kisses from Tsukishima is one of the best things in the world. That boy is insanely irritating yet attractive at the same time, yet he is capable of accelerating her heartbeat in one movement... In this case, he kissed her - not only that, now he's giving her that smug smirk that she swore to the heavens made her heart stop beating for a moment.

The situation got worse, however, as her grip on the bars continued to loosen. The support it gave her subsided, throwing her off balance and falling down on the wood chips face down with loud thud and an "oof!" from the girl. Tsukisima bursted out in laughter, but was silenced soon after she got up, her nose dripping with blood. He immediately jumped down, which was not that high of a fall for him, due to his height. But for her? It might've afflicted a little bit more damage.
