Third Person POV:
Kageyama and Hinata remained seated on opposite sides of the low rise coffee table, solving math problems in their packet. Tsukishima was tutoring the two as Yamaguchi studied independently. The girl was whipping up some quick beef noodles for dinner, chopping green onions for garnish as she overheard the blonde.
"This is junior high level math. It's your fault for being so stupid." She crouched right beside Kageyama, and peeked over his shoulder, making him tense up.
"Hm...if you think of linear equations, think of the path the ball takes when you do a direct toss to Hinata, it just goes straight to his palm. But when it comes to a quadratic funtion, think of it as an indirect toss, the path of the ball arches over, which in mathematical terms is called a parabola." She spoke as she gestured her hands, using her pointer finger to draw the lines in thin air.
The boy's face lit up, "Oooohh."
"How did you...?"
"Just like you said, Yamaguchi, volleyball is the only thing on his mind,so I spoke in terms he would understand."
"Let's eat before the noodles get cold," She headed back to the kitchen, setting down five bowls. Her eyes are at their original color, emerald green, wearing thick rimmed glasses and a pastel blue apron. It was a different look from the girl they regularly see at school, and they have to admit, it suited her really well.
Just before she added the chopped green onions, someone knocked on the door. Hinata froze, horrified to hear the voice that lay behind the door.
"Aya-chan~ It's me, Oikawa!" He said in a sing song tone. Confused, the girl opened the door to see the brunette, wearing his school uniform. The setter had a light blush in his cheeks to see her in an apron.
"Assikawa-san, what brings you here?" She gestured the guy to enter, so the boy walked inside her apartment, glancing around.
"I decided to drop off the picture after practice and- AYA-CHAN!" He pointed accusingly at the first years, who all seem to be smirking in his direction, excluding Hinata, who was still frozen in place. "Why do you have guys over this late at night?!"
"Ah. Them. They're staying over to study for the exams, and they asked Tsukishima and I to tutor them." The setter was deep in shock, he placed his hands on her shoulders and shook it vigorously, whining childishly.
"Just how low do you set your standards?!"
"We're all aiming for a passing grade...?" And of course, she misinterprets the question.
Tsukishima, who has a habit of riling people up, whispered to Yamaguchi, loud enough to be within Oikawa's earshot. "Low enough for her to go on a date with him."
The freckled boy snickered at his remark, "nice one, Tsukki!"
"You little-!" But before he gets to finish his statement, the girl lightly pushed her hand on his chest, gesturing him to stop.
"I know you guys are opponents on court, but you're not rivals right now, so at least try to get along." Oh little does she know.
"Geh!" He scoffed at the four as he pulled out the picture out of his wallet, handing it to her. "Here's the picture, I expect you to put it in your wallet."
She sighed but took the picture, "Thanks for going through all that touble, though it's not necessary. I'm surprised that you didn't get robbed on your way-" The girl next door, Tachibana, bursted through her doors, startling all of them. Great timing.
"Ayame-chan, tomorrow's shift is gonna be magical girl day, so I need to get you fitted in one of these! Which one?" She held two ruffly dresses that goes down to her mid-thigh: one is rose pink with an overbearing amount of ruffles for the her eyes, and the other is a pastel blue one with a lilac ribbon tied around the waistline.
"Neither." She stated flatly.
"Pink one it is!" She exclaimed as she forcefully dragged the girl to her apartment next door, shutting the door. She doesn't live in a dangerous area for nothing, as she is physically stronger than Ayame. Everyone exchanged confused looks, and overheard their conversation through the thin, not soundproofed, walls.
"So which one of those guys is your boyfriend?"
"None of the above."
"Eh?! Is it Suga then?"
"No. Tachibana, I get that you're a girl too, but can you stop staring at me while I change?"
"Not until you tell me about your love life."
"That life is nonexistent." After a few moments of silence, the guys next door can faintly hear a high pitched chuckle.
"What? Is it bad?"
The other voice sneaked in words between her laughter, "no! Not at all! Ayame-chan, the last time you wore this was three years ago, and it still fits you nicely~ you barely grew height-wise and bust-wise, so no adjustments are needed!"
"Oh shut up, Tachibana."
"Demooo~" The young woman reasoned, "let's go show them what you look like!"
"Like hell I'll do that."
"I'll treat you fruit parfait after your shift~" This woman knows how to bribe.
The girl sighed, knowing that her love for sweets overrides everything else in life.
"... Fine."
The door slowly creaked open, revealing Ayame wearing a ridiculously ruffly (at least for her) magical girl uniform, her expression remained indifferent, yet there's a light blush in her cheeks. The sight was too overwhelming for the four first years and Oikawa, their cheeks tinted pink, except for Kageyama, who's in a deep shade of crimson red. Tachibana can't help but giggle at their reactions as Ayame stared at her weirdly.
"You look so adorable~!" The brunette exclaimed grinning as he held three fingers up, forming an "okay" sign.
"Naozumi-kun will have a heart attack once he sees you in this!" The woman squealed.
"Naozumi? He's the one that bakes back the kitchen, right?"
The woman nodded, "He likes you, if you haven't noticed yet!" Tsukishima's pink cheeks faded away immediately, and turned into a scowl.
The girl raised her eyebrow."I highly doubt that, we don't even talk."
The lady sighed heavily and said in disappointment. "In all honesty, I wanna smack you in the head sometimes."
"What a kind friend." She retorted sarcastically, "can I change back now? I need to help Hinata and Kageyama with their work."
"Gomenne, Aya-chan, I need to get going~ " Oikawa pouted and glanced at the four first years and whispered, his tone changed from playful, to serious and filled with concern, which surprised her a little, "give me a call if they try anything, okay?" She nodded her head, and waved goodbye at the setter.
She mumbled to herself as she headed back to Tachibana's apartment to change.
"Great, now the noodles got cold."
