Third Person POV:

The team finished the day with two straight wins from both matches. All of Karasuno's players are in deep slumber as they headed back to school campus through bus. Though everyone was fast asleep, the coach assistant was wide awake throughout the whole trip, jotting down notes from their performance while it's still fresh in her brain. Her notebook is filled with factual tidbits from each members. But there's something missing, something important. Each member in the team had their morale boosted at least once one way or another, either through Kiyoko's "do your best", Noya's and Tanaka's confidence, or the Coach's words of wisdom. All except for one: Tsukishima.

Maybe through bribing? No, he's not simple minded. Words of encouragement? No, Takeda Sensei's speech won't move him one bit. I wonder...

Would it even matter? He's doing fine just now. No, I need to know, we're going to put his skills to our best use. Maybe not now, but definitely soon.

Ayame's thoughts got interrupted by screeching stop of the bus. They've finally arrived at Karasuno High.

"Well, we should probably wake everyone soon..." Takeda Sensei said. One of the faculty members in the Teacher's lounge noticed that they've arrived. He slid the glass window open and yelled from afar.

"Takeda Sensei! The volleyball club is on television!" The two second years, along with Hinata and Kageyama shot up from their seat and rushed out of the bus and sprinted to the faculty office, while the rest groggily pulled themselves out and followed them.

"It's local news, isn't it?" Tsukishima pointed out.

"SHUT UP! TV IS TV!" Noya and Tanaka retorted in unison.

The reporter's voice came out from the speakers, "Continuing on, we shift our attention to Block A. Without a doubt, the most noteworthy is Oikawa Tooru-kun, Captain of Aobajousai High school team! With good looks and a ton of female fans, he's a player with both popularity and skill."

"Assikawa is pretty well known..." Ayame trailed off. She hated to admit it, but she was quite impressed judging by his serves shown on television.

"You're more popular, idiot. You've been on national television for god's sake. " Tsukishima remarked.

The reporter continued, "-and tomorrow, the one who will be challenging Aobajousai and defeated Datekogyou, which seemed a shoe-in for best eight, in a straight set win, the veteran Karasuno High School team!" Once their school was mentioned, the two second years along with Hinata anticipated to see their plays, but instead, Oikawa's face was plastered in the screen.

"What do you think about Karasuno High School, your opponent in the third round?" The woman interviewed him.

The boy feigned a smile and answered sweetly, "they're a good team! I'd like to face and break them with everything I have!"

Yup, we're going to need Tsukishima's morale boosted for sure.

Everyone seemed disheartened that their faces weren't shown on television.

"Th-they showed a quick scene of your match in the beginning though. You all did a wonderful job!" The teacher comforted.

"Thank you, Sensei." The captain, along with the rest of the team, had a fierce, dark aura surrounding them. "Let's do it." The way he said it suggested that they're about to commit murder.

"D-do what!?" The teacher's voice shook, frightened.

"We-we're just having a meeting!" Takeda Sensei reassured.

Ayame's POV:

The team gathered around the coach back at the gym, and as always, I stood by him as he spoke.

"Today's match with Dateko was like a 'first gulp of beer' so to speak!" First gulp of beer?

"There's an incredible taste that you only get on the first gulp of beer!" He continued, fantasizing the last time he did.

"Ukai-kun, please use an explanation that minors can understand." Takeda Sensei said.

"Since the initial debut of the 'oddball quick strike', we were able to surprise our opponents, but seeing as you've fought against Seijou before, they know our gameplan to a certain extent.Even so, your offensive ability is undeniably high. The first order of business is holding out against that serve of Oikawa's..." He continued to instruct the gameplan, which I helped him formulate, though I think I barely helped him at all. It feels like I've failed as an assistant.

"...Alright, we're going to do a quick check to make sure of the formation." He finished. A man bursted through the doors, handing him two copies of CDs labeled 'Seijou vs. Oomisaki'.

"Here's today's match. I gave the camera back to Takinoe-san." The man said.

"Sorry for the trouble! You're a life saver! Next time, drinks are on me!" Coach said, as he handed me a copy. Tonight's gonna be a loooong night.

Third Person POV:

Ayame is getting desperate in knowing what boosts the blonde's morale, especially after seeing scenes of Oikawa's serves on television earlier, so after practice she headed in his direction. Asking wouldn't hurt, right?

"Tsukishima, I need to ask you a question." Ayame said, tugging on his sleeve. He turned around, his lips formed into a mischievous smirk, much to her dismay.

"Ah, Ayame. Are you gonna confess your undying love for me?" He teased the girl, which made her eye twitch.

"No." She stated bluntly. Heat crept up her cheeks, so she hid it by rubbing the bridge of her nose. This damn guy really pisses her off.

"...Then?" His tone had a hint of disappointment, fortunately she wasn't able to catch that.

"What boosts your morale?"

Hearing that just made his smirk grow even wider, this was a perfect opportunity for him to get her number. This isn't going to end so well.

"I'll answer your question in one condition." He stated as he whipped out his phone and handed it to her. "I have to message it to you. Deal?"

What a well thought out plan. He had to make sure she won't give him a fake number. Not that it mattered to her, since her first priority is the team, and her feelings are somewhere down the bottom of the list. She doesn't mind that she's giving him her number, it's the fact that he always have to be so damn difficult.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As soon as she arrived at her apartment, she fished out her phone and checked her notifications, and sure enough, there's a new message from an unregistered number.

This is the moment of truth.

She unlocked the screen and opened the message:
.

To: Ayame
From: Tsukishima
Subject: --

Nothing boosts my morale. There. I answered your question.
.

.
.
.
.
"TSUKISHIMA, YOU BASTARD!" She yelled frustratingly on the top of her lungs. You could practically see Tsukishima smirking as he typed that message up. She hated this guy - no she hated herself more for phrasing the question so poorly.

She tapped furiously on the screen, if she had longer nails, she would've probably cracked it. Message Sent.

Sure enough, the boy was laying on his bed, periodically checking his phone to see if she had replied. He heard the familiar high pitched ringtone. He unlocked his phone, a sly smirk grew on his face as he read her message.

To: Tsukishima
From: Ayame

You win this round, Tsukishima.
