With their fingertips still pressed against one another. Giving off such a vibrant light it nearly blinded Mara. Her gaze turned towards the now dazzling Riku. Flickers of light reflecting off those deep bright blue green orbs boring into Mara's own. Gleaming with unrelenting hope, it confused Mara but most of all concerned her. She was well aware of what seemed to happen when she cared for things. They would always turn on her. Either betraying her or leaving her alone. And she couldn't risk that. The sliver of fear within Mara's heart begged her to retreat from Riku. Seeking to only be alone. For that Mara believed deep down was the only way those she cared for would be safe.

Regretfully Mara began to separate herself from Riku's touch. Her amber orbs distorted with many emotions welling inside the sorrowful woman. Mara then turned away from Riku, her back to the handsome man. Her heart resonating with that of Riku's pulsating visibly in her chest. Causing Mara's entire body to tremble, seeming almost angry that she dared to part ways with him. But Mara knew what was best. And she did not wish to see another poor heart plunged into darkness. Except for her own.

"Let me go." Mara breathed, her voice barely above a whisper as black tendrils erected from the earth below Mara's feet. Wrapping themselves around Mara's fragile form. Bindind her into the darkness below. Awaiting her slow but sure decend, if Riku didn't act quickly. Not willing to let the woman before him fall, Riku reached out for Mara. His right hand clashing her wrist. Riku's sudden touch sending waves of warmth through Mara's entire being. Distracting her from the impending darkness which wished to devour her.

Hesitantly Mara turned her gaze to meet that of Riku's. Determination evident in his eyes, as the young man took a deep breathe before speaking. "There is light in the darkness. A light I never knew existed until I was far lost in the void." Riku began as he willed the sleeping darkness within him to stir. The familiar faint tingle through his joints after such a use. As he has become quite latent with his use of darkness. Riku focusing on the light within it, rendering the darkness in him a were bad memory. But a memory he believed would help Mara.

Stifling back a gasp, a sizable dark miasma began to spew from Riku's back. His hand gripping firmly onto his chest, as the dark spume began to take shape into that of black cloak. One that fell upon Riku's shoulders. Draping him in the familar chill of the darkness. Startling Mara as a sudden black bandage appeared around Riku's eyes. An old friend to Riku, which used she shield him from his own inner dark power. Keeping it at bay for a time of course. Riku then stood before Mara boring the familiar Organization XIII coat, which Master Xehnaort himself form an old fabrication of it. Taking in a shallow breath Riku allowed the thick smog of darkness to concentrate on the ends of his cloak. Creating an abysmal shroud of darkness which drapped Riku's back.

The cloak itself seeming endless, so much even that Mara believed if someone fell into it. They surely woulf never be seen again. Mara gazed upon Riku, his body seeming to coexist with the darkness. No more of he himself willed the darkness. Controlled it so. Something Mara had only believed were a mere myth. And yet here before her stood proof. The thick smog drapping at Riku's feet, the darkness rippling and oozing from the cloth. Quietly Riku extended his hand for Mara's a warm smile on his features. Though the darkness remained near billowing around the silver haired man like flames.

Mara was hesitant. The darkness appeared to be under the influence of Riku. And yet Mara still wasn't sure. Not of him, but of herself. What if her own weakened heart drove his darkness mad; beyond his control and it devoured her whole. It would have been her own foolishness which pushed her to this point but it mattered not. Mara wasn't sure she could bear to be around someone's darkness again. Not after before. Not after her failure to lull Terra's darkness into full submission. She had failed then. And now this would only be a constant reminder of such.
