Dive Pt.2

All the while elsewhere dealing with Vanitas presently, Riku stood before the masked boy. His strength slowly draining from his body as the silver haired young man continued to live through Mara's memories. The procedure invasive and completely out of Riku's control. But even so it was an invasion of privacy, and Riku began to see why Master Xehanort was still going through all the trouble to capture Mara. The young woman bound by the grip of the masked boy called Vanitas. His darkness coming off him in harsh waves,draping over Mara. Who's eyes seemed to be glazed over and unfocused. As if she was not truly there. And it was true,she wasn't. For her very heart and mind had both wandered into the speck of dark memories which resided within her. A place where Mara would never dream of being. Seeing things she wished she could forget.

Events she wished could be wiped from existence,yet they forever lay dormant in her heart. Away from prying eyes and yet against Mara's will, her secrets and anguish were now in full display of both Vanitas and Riku. Flinching in pain from the invasion of privacy, Mara's body stiffened in Vanitas's grip. Her breathing became heavily labored, along with beads of sweat forming in her brow. All the while Vanitas smirked at Mara. Enjoying the painful look on the once powerful woman's face. "That's it Mara, just a little closer. And your heart will be ripe for the picking." Vanitas stated gleefully, before running his hand across Mara's cheek. His touch making Mara's skin crawl even despite her current situation. Her discomfort apparent to Riku who angrily hacked through several of the dark blue creatures before him.

A few of them agile, able to dodge Riku's sluggish blows before another creature head-butted Riku in the stomach. Stealing the very breathe from his lungs, forcing Riku to double over. Struggling to recover in breath, all the while another larger creature the size of a hill manifested before Riku. Clad in armor from head to toe the large titan then stomped upon the ground. Sending a shockwave through the earth, causing it to rupture in many places. But most of all it forced Riku even further away from his target. Mara. She needed him. Digging in his heels Riku stood to his feet. His cerulean gaze turned towards Vanitas, hatred brewing in his eyes making Vanitas laugh. "I decided to give you a friend to play with while Mara and I catch up." Vanitas commented as he slowly ran his fingers through Mara's raven locks,making Riku's blood boil.

"Don't touch her, like you know her!" Riku shouted drawing the attention in Vanitas. Who through his helmet glared lowly at the silver haired Keyblade weilder before him. "And you think you do?" Vanitas mocked, snapping his fingers as the giant he had created stomped over to the weakened Riku. Slamming it's large fists into the ground, leaving a large crater in the earth below. All the while narrowly escaping the behemoth Riku slid across the ground. Recovering his footing, Keyblade in hand prepared to defend himself. "I know that she's in pain and your the source of it!" Riku shouted as Vanitas cackled before stating "I'm the source of all darkness except for this one. Her darkness is one of a kind,truly unique. And perfect as a vessel." Vanitas spoke his words alarming Riku as he began to put all the pieces together.

From what he had seen in a brief fragment of Mara's memory was that her heart was infact ripped from her by Vanitas before. The vile man had also claimed that her heart was special. Along with her body which Vanitas had called a "vessel" as well. Which apparently Vanitas was after. But why was Vanitas almost possessive over Mara. His hand all over her body, whispering I'll intent in her ear. Making her skin crawl. But it was when Riku took a glimpse of Mara amber orbs filled to the brim with fear. Eyes that he never realized it at first but her eyes shared the same hue as Xemnas, Xigbar and Master Xehanort. This realization hitting him Riku stated at Vanitas in utter shock. Knocking what was instore for Mara.

Master Xehanort had fully intended to make Mara into one of his vessels of darkness. Another body whom would fight his war for Kingdom Hearts. And ultimately destroy all in her path,all for her Master. The man who's heart would replace her own. Leaving Mara a mere shell of the woman she use to be. Which also meant that one day Riku would have to face off against her. Her brilliant smile twisted into an eternal frown, as the shadows would devour all Mara ever was or would be. Gripping onto his Keyblade Riku took a step towards Vanitas. The helmet covered boy who seemed amused with the whole situation. "Ooh so you figured it out didn't you?" Vanitas mocked all the while manipulating Mara's body to his will. Forcing Mara to her knees in the vile boy's grip. Her eyes overcome with tears as Mara continued to relive one of her most painful memories again.
And yet even through the internal anguish Mara was able to mutter out a cry. Begging Riku to end her suffering. "Riku.... please-" Mara breathed before ultimately passing out in Vanitas arms. Making the boy sigh in annoyance, all the while he roughly kicked Mara in the stomach. Causing the unconscious woman to flinch in pain and for Riku to run at the boy. Screaming that he would save Mara if it was the last thing he did.

"You'll fail just like Terra did, and the darkness will have you." Vanitas commented darkly before forming his signature chained Keyblade in his clutches. Prepared to take Riku on who too got into battle stance. Trying his best to calm his rapid beating heart. "I don't need your darkness, I have my own. And we won't fail!" Riku declared as he ran towards Vanitas, anger in his being as the two boy's keyblades clashed against one another. Shadow and light circling against one another after the blow,as one after the other. The two boy's exchanged blow after the blow. Riku numb to the pain, with only the desire of saving Mara from her hellish nightmare was all that drove him. But would it be enough?
