I ran, as fast as I could. I wanted so badly to help this Goddess from whatever prison she was sealed away in. Akeno helped however she could. Sharing her energy with me so I could keep running.

I skidded to a stop on a rock, nearly falling into the lake now before me. It wasn't a huge lake, but it was big enough. Trees lined its shores, leaving this rock as the only way to view the whole thing.

"I can sense something." Akeno told me.

"Guide me." I answered.

Her influence took control and she had me hop off the rock and walk into the forest to the right of it. She glanced around the forest as if waiting for something to happen. Someone to jump out and attack her or something.

She continued into the forest, weary of its dark corners. But none the less, she too wanted to save the Goddess. Knowing she wasn't actually cruel, Akeno wanted to meet her.

She stopped and looked at the forest floor below her. "She should be here." She said using my mouth and voice, as she was controlling me.

"She's under us." I told her. "Can you find her scent?"

"Not in your body." Akeno answered.

"I've got your back." I smiled. She appeared in front of me and returned the smile before turning away. I could hear her sniff the air and she started walking farther away from the lake.

I took hold of her hand, so if anything was here they wouldn't be able to separate us. Even though I knew my visions would tell me when something was coming.

Akeno stopped beside a boulder. "She's behind here." She said after a few more sniffs.

"I may not be able to move that." I told her.

"I'll help. Try." She answered. I nodded a bit and pressed my back to the rock and pushed with everything I had. Akeno came up beside me and helped with a grunt, and eventually the rock came loose and rolled a few feet before smashing into tree that just missed us as it collapsed beside us, thankfully not blocking the entrance to the cave itself.

"That was a little close." Akeno shivered.

"No kidding." I answered.

"Are you sure?" Akeno questioned as she looked into the cave.

"We have to help her. We can't just leave her." I told her.

"Okay." She nodded a bit then we made our way into the cave. The cave was pitch black, but Akeno generated a very small amount of light, and my cat eyes gave me decent night vision so I was able to see.

Akeno's eyes widened. "She's very strong."

"Stronger than you?" I asked.

"Maybe." Akeno answered.

"I doubt it." I shrugged.

Akeno smiled and we came around the corner to find a woman with long white hair. Her hair was tied up but moved over her front shoulder. She was wearing animal skins like Lupa had been, but more worn. Her wolf ears were flat against her head, and her tail was curled up at her side.

She was on her knees, her wrists chained to the floor. Her ankles were also chained to the ground as well. A metal collar was wrapped around her neck and her head was lowered, and her eyes closed.

"Edon?" I called to her as I moved over. "Edon is that you?"

"Fate Weaver?" Edon called, her voice pure and innocent, yet strong and powerful. She raised her head showing off a young and beautiful face. When she opened her eyes, I had to remind myself that I was already dating Akeno because her yellow eyes told me she could hunt me forever.

I was enchanted by her beauty, and I could do nothing but stare until Akeno punched me in the arm.

"R-right. Sorry." I muttered. "How do we get the chains off Edon?" I said as I moved in front of her and knelt down. Her eyes studied me intently for a few short seconds before she looked down at her binds.

"They are sealed with powerful magic. I don't know how to break them." Edon answered.

"Perhaps breaking them isn't the answer." Akeno suggested.

"What did you have in mind Fox?" Edon asked as she looked over my shoulder at her, her expression filled with hope that she might be able to save her.

"Lupa said she used simple seals. That would imply something strong enough to hold a god, but easy to cast. That would mean easily broken, but not by the traditional means." Akeno said.

"Please just get to the point. I would very much like to move." Edon asked getting Akeno to roll her eyes

"Something that Lupa would check every time she saw you. Something simple like an emotion."

"She always asked if I was frightned." Edon answered.

"Are you?" I questioned.

"I am terrified." Edon answered. "My forest is dying and there's nothing I can do."

"Then try not to be afraid." Akeno said.

"How!? How am I supposed to just suddenly relax after sitting here for almost a year?" Edon asked with a whine.

"Because you won't have to sit here anymore. You have company now too. You aren't alone." I suggested.

Edon's attention returned to me and she watched my expression, testing for some kind of doubt or malice in my face. Did she think I was her enemy? Or did she know I was here to help?

She looked down at her chains, as if wondering if they were really there. She pulled on it once, then sighed deeply. Her expression seemed to relax, and she pulled on it again, this time not easing up. The metal began to bend and creak before snapping off.

She pulled off the collar and the chains on her ankles with ease before standing up. She too was taller than me, but she seemed to be the same height as Akeno was. She then stepped past me and embraced Akeno who looked a bit shocked before hugging her back.

"Akeno, thank you so much." Edon said. "Thank you for finding me with the Fate Weaver. I know that Lupa will have put a cruel image of me in your head, and for that I appologize. But I can feel my forest dying. I must tend to it." She released Akeno who smiled before she took my hand and smiled at me. "And thank you Fate Weaver, for allowing me to be free again."

"This one wasn't up to me." I smiled a bit. "Though. I did think that you deserved a chance to live your life some more instead of being trapped in a prison."

I smiled as she took her leave, jogging out of the cave, her tail swaying behind her, and her hair bouncing on her shoulder.

"So I'm tired now." I said as I looked back at Akeno.

"You really are a lazy cat." Akeno sighed.

I shrugged and we headed home.
