I wake to the thumping sound of several people walking together. My eyes flick open. Lamar's breathing hasn't sped up any, neither has his heart-beat, so I know he's asleep.

I roll over to face him. I grab his shoulder and shake it slightly. "Lamar, wake up." I whisper.

I see his eyes open immediately. "What?" He whispers, not at all demanding, just in need of an answer.

"Listen." We are silent so he can hear the thumping. "Let's go." Lamar nods, his arms slip away from my body. We get off of his bed and slip our shoes on. Lamar opens the door and closes it behind us, locking it just before we walk away.

I see people forming lines of human-beings, they each grab a gun and continue to march away, towards an exit.

I stand up straight and glance at Lamar, he looks like everyone else, a mindless zombie, but I know he isn't. I stare ahead of me, Lamar and I walk over to the line of Dauntless and slip into it. I see Zach and other Dauntless leaders, watching everyone.

I feel a tap on my shoulder. "Hey, what are we doing?" I don't know who it is, his voice is deep, but he doesn't sound strong. "Where are we going?" He asks.

"Divergent." I hear Zach say. "Don't worry, you're okay, everything is okay." But it is not okay, Zach's going to kill him, all of Candor will be gone. Nothing is okay. I hear a gunshot, something inside me shakes, and something hits the ground- the body.

I grab a gun and hold it how everyone else is-against their chest.

What can Lamar and I do? What if the simulation just takes longer to work on us? What if we're discovered? My thoughts block the rest of the world from reaching me. I am just like one of the mindless zombies that stand in front of me.

I shake my head to clear my mind. I need to pay attention to where I'm going so I can get around on my own. If Erudite is starting another war I need to know my way around the city.

Then, the train is in front of me, moving slowly, and I feel a hand wrapped around my arm. I hear Lamar telling me to jump on the train. I grab the handle and pull myself up to the door, I throw my leg around the door-way and pull my body into the train. I fall against other Dauntless- not like they care or notice- but regain my balance quickly.

I move back into the line of Dauntless zombies, trying to appear to be one of them. I feel someone grab my hand, I turn my head to see who it is- Lamar. I wrap my fingers around his hand, he does the same as I lean against him slightly. I know there's a lot we'll have to do if we want to stop this war from going too far, though, I think it already has.
