Unexpected Surprise, Chapter 20 (Skyelo) - At General Hospital, Skye's Room — Skye was in bed, hooked up to an IV, talking to Alan when Edward came rushing in. "Now, Skye, I want the best care for you, whatever you and your baby need," Edward said as Lorenzo entered. "I tried to stop him," Lorenzo said. "It's okay, Grandfather. I'm going to be fine. The twins are fine. I just have what is called Hyperemesis Gravidarum. It's beyond morning sickness, but the twins will be fine," Skye explained. "I hope so. You're carrying Quartermaine. Skye, I know we haven't always gotten along, but I love you," Edward said. "I love you, Grandfather," Skye responded. "You know, you can stay with us," Edward offered. "Grandfather, my home is with Lorenzo," Skye replied. "Lorenzo is nothing more than the father of your twins—that's all," Edward stated. "Watch it," Lorenzo retorted. "Grandfather, Lorenzo is going to be part of my life and my babies," Skye said. "Skye doesn't need stress, Father," Alan added. "Alright," Edward agreed, and he and Alan left. "Lorenzo, I'm sorry about that, but Grandfather is just worried," Skye apologized. "I know, Skye. We haven't discussed the next step," Lorenzo said. "Marriage?" Skye asked. "Yes," Lorenzo confirmed. "I've never been good at marriage. I always screw it up," Skye admitted. "Me too, but maybe we haven't found the right person until now," Lorenzo said, taking Skye's hand. "Lorenzo, what if we do get married and it doesn't work out? What about the twins?" Skye asked. "I will never take the child from you, no matter what happens between us," Lorenzo assured her. "I do want to marry you, but I'm scared," Skye confessed. "Sometimes, you just have to take a leap of faith," Lorenzo counseled as Rae entered. "Sorry, I just heard you were here," Rae said. "It's okay. Lorenzo, can you ask Dr. Kelly how long this will take?" Skye asked. "Alright," Lorenzo responded and left. "Skye, are you okay?" Rae asked. "Yes, I just have this hyperemesis gravidarum," Skye replied. "Yeah, so what you and Lorenzo were talking about looked intense," Rae observed. "It was. Lorenzo was asking if I want to get married," Skye explained. "Lorenzo wants to get married?" Rae asked. "Yes, and I don't want to. I can't take the risk when there's so much at stake," Skye said. "Skye, I've seen the way Lorenzo looks at you. He loves you. I believe he loves you for you, not the way Jax did. You have to trust this," Rae said. "How?" Skye asked. "Skye, you need to believe that you deserve to be happy. Just let yourself be happy," Rae advised. "I will. I was scared I might lose the twins," Skye admitted. "I know," Rae said as Lorenzo and Dr. Kelly entered. "You can leave," Dr. Kelly said, unhooking the IV. "Thank you. So I have to come back every week?" Skye asked. "Yes, and if you feel sick, come in right away and take it easy," Dr. Kelly responded. "I will," Skye assured. "We will make sure she does," Lorenzo promised. Skye and Lorenzo left. "Dr. Kelly, will the twins be okay?" Rae asked. "Dr. Cummings, I know you're worried, but I can't tell you anything I haven't told Skye," Dr. Kelly replied. "Yes, I understand," Rae said and left.
