Unexpected Surprise, Chapter 35 (Skyelo)
At General Hospital, in Rae's office, Rae was setting up and placing a picture of Skye on her desk when Monica entered. "So you're all settin in?" Monica asked. "Yes, are you okay with me working here?" Rae asked. "Rae, you're a good doctor; we need therapy," Monica said. "Yes, you do. Monica, you don't need to worry about Alan and me," Rae responded. "I know that; Alan is done with you," Monica said. "Yes, he is," Rae replied. Monica looked at the picture of Skye. "You're worried about when Skye finds out the truth, aren't you?" Monica asked. "Yes, I do want to be a part of Skye's life," Rae said. "Just because you didn't give birth to her doesn't mean she's not yours. I loved Jason as my own," Monica stated. "Thank you," Rae said. "I really do want us to get along," Monica added. "Me too," Rae agreed. Monica then left.

At Skye's hotel, Skye was talking with Kate Howard, who was helping her decorate. "Kate, this looks good. I can't wait for tomorrow night. Looks like we're all set," Skye said. "You're welcome. I'm glad I could help," Kate replied. "Me too. I don't have many female friends; I never have, but I think we could be friends," Skye said. "I would like that too. I didn't have many female friends either; I was too busy with my career," Kate said as AJ approached.

"Skye, you're back," AJ said.

"Yes, Kate, have you met my brother AJ Quartermaine?" Skye asked.

"No, nice to meet you," Kate said.

"You too," AJ replied.

"Kate, help me decorate this hotel. You sure have her help you with the restaurant," Skye said.

"Maybe. I will call you. This hotel is nice; I'm sure it had a lot of work from when Carly owned it," AJ commented.

"Yes, it did," Kate agreed and left.

"Skye, are you trying to set me up?" AJ asked.

"I just want you to be happy. Now that I'm—" Skye started.

"I will be. So, you heard about the restaurant and the pier?" AJ inquired.

"Yes, I'm glad Lorenzo dropped it," Skye responded.

"Me too. He loves you, Skye—more than Jax ever did," AJ said.

"I know. I feel that way too," Skye admitted.

"Why did you go to Pine Valley?" AJ asked.

"Adam was dying. We made peace before he died," Skye answered.

"I'm sorry," AJ said.

"It's okay," Skye replied.

"The hotel looks great. It's going to be a hit," AJ remarked.

"Thanks. So, you and Michael are going to open a restaurant?" Skye asked.

"Yes. Grandfather suggested it and that I name it Lila," AJ explained.

"I love it," Skye said.

"Thanks. We're also planning to build a shopping center and maybe another hotel. I want you to help me, Skye," AJ said.

"Sure, I will. AJ, do you think we can be happy?" Skye asked.

"Yes," AJ replied.

"I hope so," Skye said.

At the docks, Michael was walking when he ran into Jax.

"Michael, how are you doing?" Jax asked.

"Good. I'm opening a restaurant with my dad," Michael said.

"That's great. I do hope you and AJ get a chance," Jax commented.

"Thank you," Michael responded.

"Have you heard from your mother?" Jax inquired.

"Yes. She's happy with Sonny," Michael said.

"That's good," Jax replied.

"Are you okay?" Michael asked.

"Yes. Carly and I would never work," Jax said.

"It was nice seeing you. I need to go," Michael stated and left.
