Unexpected Surprise (Skyelo) ch 31~"Saying goodbye to Adam"

At Skye/Lorenzo~ Lorenzo was on the phone with Skye. "Are you sure you don't want me to come? I can. Alright, just be careful," Lorenzo said and hung up the phone as one of his men entered.

"Sir, we have an issue," the man said.

"What?" Lorenzo asked.

"We went to buy the pier last night, and someone already owned it," the man replied.

"Who?" Lorenzo asked.

"The Quartermaine," the man replied.

"Damn it, I will take care of it," Lorenzo said. The man left.

At The Quartermaine Mansion~ AJ, Monica, Alan, and Edward were talking.

"So, we bought the pier last night," AJ said.

"That's great," Monica said as Tracy, Ned, and Michael entered.

"What are you all happy about?" Tracy asked.

"AJ and I made a great business deal last night," Edward said.

"Really?" Ned asked.

"Yes. We own the pier. Son, I want you to go into business with me. We're planning to open a restaurant and name it 'Lila,'" AJ said.

"Lila?" Tracy asked.

"I would love to, Father," Michael said.

"Good, I'm glad. This is our second chance, son, and you won't regret it," AJ said.

"I know, Father," Michael replied as Lorenzo entered.

"Skye's not here," Alan said.

"I know, Skye's out of town. I'm here to see AJ. You brought the pier? I was about to get it," Lorenzo said.

"I bought the pier for a fresh start with my son. We're going to put a restaurant on it named Lila's, and I know you won't touch me for Skye," AJ stated.

"No, I won't. And I know I wanted a second chance. I have it with Skye. Alright, I'll let it go," Lorenzo agreed.

"Good," Edward said.

"Thank you," AJ said.

"You're welcome," Lorenzo replied.

"Lorenzo, where did Skye go?" Alan asked.

"Adam Chandler was dying, so Skye went to see him. He died last night," Lorenzo answered.

"No, is Skye okay?" Alan asked.

"Yes, she got to make peace with Adam," Lorenzo said.

"Good," Alan replied. Lorenzo left.

"That was a close one," Michael said.

"Yes," AJ agreed.

At Pine Valley~ Adam's funeral~ Brook, Skye, Scotty, Stuart, JR, Colby, Rae, and Adam Jr. were present.

"Is that all who are coming?" Colby asked.

"Yes. Your father wanted a small funeral," Brook replied.

"But the whole town will surely be here," Colby said.

"Colby, not everyone loved Daddy," Hailee said, and they sat down.

"We're here to say goodbye to a husband, businessman, and father. Adam Chandler will never be forgotten," a speaker said.

Brook got up.

"Adam and I went through a lot in our relationship, ups and downs, but I will always love him. He's my soulmate. Adam loved with all his heart, and his family—that's what truly matters to him," Brook said.

Adam Jr. stepped forward.

"I'm Adam Chandler Jr. I will make my grandfather proud and take care of this family. I love you," he said.

He got up and continued, "Dad, I know we had our differences, but I love you. I will ensure the company is in good hands."

Hailee also got up.

"I love you, Dad. I'm glad you're no longer in pain," she said.

Skye stepped forward.

"Adam, I'm glad we made peace. I love you, and I will tell my children about you," Skye said.

Colby stood up.

"Daddy, I love you so much. We will make you proud," Colby said.
