Unexpected Surprise Chapter 21 (Skyelo)

At Ric's office—Ric was at his desk when Alan and Monica entered. "Do you have any news?" Monica asked. "Yes, I have all the changer drop, so AJ can come home," Ric replied. "Really?" Alan asked. "Yes," Ric said. "Thank you, we will make sure you're DA," Monica responded. "I didn't do this just for that. I kind of understand why AJ did what he did. To have his son, I would do anything for Molly. We all will do anything for our children," Ric stated. "Yes, we do," Monica agreed. "Let's go get our son home," Alan said. Alan and Monica left.

At the hotel—Skye and Lorenzo entered. "Skye, I really think you should be in bed," Lorenzo urged. "This will just take a minute," Skye said. A man entered.

"Skye Quartermaine," the man announced.

"Yes, that's me. So, do you have the sign?" Skye asked.

"Yes, I do. Do you want it up?" the man inquired.

"Yes," Skye confirmed. The man left.

"What is the sign?" Lorenzo asked.

"The sign for our new name," Skye explained.

"Oh, Skye, why don't we get a table and you can rest a little," Lorenzo suggested.

"Alright," Skye agreed. Skye took Lorenzo's hand, and they went into a private room filled with flowers and candies. Lorenzo took Skye's hand and went down on his knees.

"Skye, I know you're scared. I am too, but we can do this together. Will you marry me, Skye Chandler Quartermaine?" Lorenzo asked.

"Oh, Lorenzo, I don't know," Skye hesitated.

"Skye, I know you're scared. We will take this chance together. We've loved and lost," Lorenzo said.

"Yes, we have. Lorenzo, I do love you. I know you break the law, but I can live with it—so long as it doesn't touch our children. Oh, Lorenzo, yes, I will marry you," Skye responded.

Lorenzo stood and kissed Skye. "We will be happy, Skye," Lorenzo assured her as he placed the ring on her finger.

"It's beautiful," Skye remarked.

"Just like you. If you want, we can wait until the twins are born to get married," Lorenzo offered.

"Thank you for this," Skye said.

"I want to romance you, Skye," Lorenzo declared.

"I do love romance," Skye admitted. Her cell phone rang.

"Skye Quartermaine, yes, I will be there," Skye said and hung up.

"That was Daddy. He's calling a family meeting," Skye explained.

"Are you sure you want to go?" Lorenzo asked.

"Yes, I will be fine," Skye assured him and left.

Outside—Lorenzo and Skye stepped out and saw the new sign on the hotel.

"So, what do you think of it?" Skye asked.

"I love it. Just like I love the woman who owns it," Lorenzo said as they shared a kiss.
