Unexpected Surprise ch 49 (Skyelo) ~ "The Next Generation"

At General Hospital, in Skye's room, Skye was sleeping when Lorenzo entered, approached her bed, and took her hand. "Thank God you're okay. I can't lose you and the girls. I've lost too much—Diego, Sage, and Luis," Lorenzo said as Skye woke up. "Lorenzo," Skye said as she opened her eyes. "Skye, you're okay," Lorenzo reassured her. "What about the girls?" Skye asked. "They're fine too, just a couple of months early," Lorenzo replied. "Oh, good," Skye said. "Yes. Do you remember the car crash?" Lorenzo asked. "I went into the car; I was upset about what happened and was crying when I hit something. Did I hurt anyone?" Skye asked. "Alexis hit you," Lorenzo said. "Are you sure?" Skye asked. "Yes," Lorenzo confirmed. "Is she okay?" Skye wanted to know. "Yes, for now. If I lose you and our daughters because of Alexis Davis, she will pay," Lorenzo said firmly. "Lorenzo, leave Alexis alone. Everyone is okay," Skye said. "Alright, I will—for you," Lorenzo responded. "Thank you. Now, let's go see our daughters," Skye said as Dr. Kelly entered. "Skye, you did lose some blood, but you can have more children, just not for a while," Dr. Kelly explained. "Thank you. How long do I have to stay here?" Skye asked. "Just for a little while," Dr. Kelly answered. "What about our girls?" Skye asked. "They need to stay here a while to get stronger, and their lungs need more development," Dr. Kelly explained. "Can we go see and hold them?" Skye inquired. "You can't hold them yet, but you can see them," Dr. Kelly said. "Thank you," Lorenzo expressed. "You're welcome. Skye, you'll need to be in a wheelchair," Dr. Kelly added. "Alright," Skye agreed.

In the hallway, Alan and Tracy were talking. "Alan, can you look at Daddy's chart and save him?" Tracy asked. "I will look at Father's chart, but we need to follow his wishes," Alan replied. "I don't want to lose him," Tracy said. "I know, but if Father is in pain, we need to let him go," Alan explained. "I guess. So, how are you doing with all this? I know it's killing you if you lose Skye," Tracy said. "Yes, it would be. But I have a feeling Skye will not be upset," Alan said. "I hope you're right," Tracy replied.

In the nursery, Lorenzo pushed Skye in a wheelchair as they looked through the glass at the twins. "Skye, I had names picked out for both girls, but now that I'm not Rae and Alan's daughter, I don't know," Skye admitted. "You can still name one Lila Rae. You're still part of that family. That's why I didn't want to tell you—why we all didn't. We knew how much it meant to you to be a Quartermaine," Lorenzo said. "Yes, it did. I want to name one Lila Rae and the other Alana," Skye said, just as Rae and Alan approached. "Skye," Alan greeted. "If it's true I'm a Cassadine, I still want to be part of your crazy family. I love you, Alan, like a father. You've been great to me. I want to name one of my daughters Alana. I want you in their lives," Skye said. "I want that, too. You're still my daughter. Love makes a family," Alan responded. They shared a hug. "Skye," Rae said. "I still can't believe you lied to me. You knew longer than Alan that I wasn't his daughter," Rae pointed out. "I didn't want to deal with the pain of losing a child," Skye explained. "I get that. I love you, but I need time," Skye said. "Alright, I'll move out and give you some space," Rae agreed. "Thank you. I still want to name my other daughter Lila Rae," Skye said. "Thank you," Rae replied. "We need a middle name for Alana," Lorenzo said. "I was thinking Alana Edward," Skye suggested as Edward approached. "Skye, you're still a Quartermaine. I don't care what the DNA test says. You're a true Quartermaine," Edward said. "Thank you, Edward. We didn't see eye to eye much, but I'm glad we do now," Skye responded. "Me too. I just told the family I have cancer and I'm dying," Edward revealed. "No," Skye said, crying. "It's okay. Now that everyone is taken care of, I can leave and be with Lila," Edward comforted her. "Yes. Come meet your great-grandchildren, Lila Rae and Alana Edward," Skye invited. "Oh, Skye, they're adorable. Lorenzo, you need to protect them with your life," Edward said. "I will, sir," Lorenzo vowed. "The next generation of Quartermaines," Edward declared.
Tracy, Monica, AJ, Ned, and Michael then came by. "Come meet Alana Edward and Lila Rae," Skye announced.
