Romeo's POV~
We were both sitting in a booth at the pho place we had decided we liked. Well, he probably already knew; I'm still new to the satisfaction of it all. Both of us had already ordered, so we just awaited the arival.
"So, I turned in a job request." Orion stated factually, turning my attention from the unique lighting of the diner. He had a somewhat meek expression but also seemed certain and confident. I didn't say anything but let him know he had my attention by keeping my own facial emotion soft and slightly curious. "To be honest, money at the moment isn't really an issue right now. But that doesn't mean I should abuse the standards I'm at right now with money; seeing you work hard made me realise that I needed to be sure that I could handle and manage my own finances should things become complicated and I lose what I have."
I raised an eyebrow questioningly, not really sure how to respond. His finances? How much money does he have? I had questioned a bit how easily we were able to move. But then again, having been forced into an old-school arranged marriage with the daughter of some rich family must mean his family is also very well off. Which also must mean he has a lot of money due to that. Nevertheless, I urged him on with my tentive gaze.
"I was surprised that after I told my parents about my sexuality and they kicked me out that they didn't cut the funds that they forward to my account every other week." He elaborated, eying me for some sort of reaction which I couldn't really supply. He then licked his lips briefly. "But, I didn't really say much about the money at first 'cause I didn't want you to think I was weird for living in a tiny apartment rather than some nicer, more spacious house."
He waited a moment, looking at me as our soup was brought to us. It was then I realised he was finished with his part and it was my turn to speak.
I opened my mouth, eyes downcasting as I pondered quickly what to say. "..Okay." My eyes returned to him, knowing full well how blank my face must have seemed. "I don't see anything wring with the relation of yohr money towards your housing situation." My feet repositioned under the table. "Obviously, you seem more humble about it than others and you also wanted to stay low radar for specific others and living in a small apartment would draw the least attention. It seems logical enough for you to lay low and take it easy."
He seemed a bit surprised by reaction as I continued.
"Besides, isn't it normal for a young guy living alone to choose an apartment? It wouldn't really be more than convinience."
Orion chuckled under his breath as he looked down at his bowl. "Wow. And to think I was worried over nothing..." He began to prep, adding the extras into his pho.
I coppied his motions. "If that's what you've been so weird about lately, than you really were..." A smirk couldn't helo but tug the corner of my lips as I inwardly scoffed at my own rediculous frets.
"I'm so glad I met you that day..." He remarked as he stirred the ingredients together. "If it weren't for me actually attending school for once, I would still be loafing lonely and lazily in my old apartment, playing video games or something."
"I'm glad too..." I agreed quietly, starting to feel just a bit embarrassed. Why am I embarrassed by that?
Orion's POV~
I looked up at him as he took a bite of pho and couldn't help but smile softly. He's so cute when he gets all meek. If he wasn't sitting across the table from me, I'd probabaly start attacking him with kisses. Though, that would likely lead to something far more than innocent PDA. So, it's probably for the best we aren't right next to each other.
