Vince's POV

F L A S H B A C K

Kakatapos lang naming mag-dinner so we all went to our rooms to rest. It's still too early to sleep kaya binuksan ko muna ang TV ko and tuned in to Netflix. I was in the middle of choosing kung anong series ang itutuloy ko when I heared a knock on my door.

I stood up at binuksan ang pintuan. I saw Dad waiting outside. "Hey, son."

"Dad," I nodded. "Bakit po? You need something?"

"Ah, wala naman, anak." He answered. "Can I come in?"

"Of course, Dad. Tara po?" I opened the door wider para makapasok siya. We both sat on my bed.

"What are you going to watch?"

"Still don't know, Dad. Marami pa akong hindi tapos eh." Sagot ko naman sa kanya.

"Hmm." He nodded again. "So, team Cap ka pa din?" Tanong niya when he saw a new Captain America action figure that I bought online.

"Syempre naman, Dad, he's the very first Avenger kaya." Natatawang sagot ko. "Ikaw, Dad? Team Stark pa rin?"

"Well, of course! He may not be the very first avenger pero mas marami siyang nagawa for the Avengers." He reasoned out.

"Nah, Cap is still cooler for me. He can fight with his shield alone. He doesn't even need a tin suit." Sabi ko naman sa kanya.

He laughed. "Okay, okay. You got me there. Pero Team Stark pa din ako."

"Whatever, Dad."

I know that Dad has something serious to tell me. Usually, he will start the conversation this way and I don't know why. Siguro lagi siyang naghahanap ng way to make the conversation lighter.

"So, ano nga po yung sasabihin mo, Dad?" I finally asked.

"Anak, tell me the truth." Mas lalo akong kinabahan. "What made you change your decision?"

"Eh kasi nga, Dad, I don't think I'm ready for Brickwood." I lied.

Don't you think mas maganda if I will be trained somewhere where I am comfortable so that I'll be more ready for college?"

He nodded as if I was able to convince him by my explanation. "Yeah, you got a point."

I was secretly relieved when he agreed with me.

"Another question, anak. Be honest ha?" Bumalik na naman ang kaba ko when he said that. I just chose to nod because I kno that I'll stutter pag nagsalita ako.

"Is Veera one of the reasons?"

I wasn't able to answer right away. I don't even know how to answer that. I just found myself nodding again.

Dad sighed after he saw me nod. "Son, do you love, Veera?"

"I. . . Don't know, Dad. I'm really not sure." I answered honestly.

We just stayed silent. No one dared to talk. It's as if Dad is still waiting for me to continue. So I decided to broke the silence.
