35 - That Won't Really Stop Me

Veera's POV

I cannot find anything to wear to cover my puffy eyes because of all the crying that I did all night. In the end I decided na kapalan na lang ang mascara ko. I think this will help.

I can't imagine what it'd be like kung malayo si Kuya Vince sa akin. Sounds dramatic but it's true. I've got my girls but Kuya Vince is different.

Joycie and Tasya have known each other since they were young kaya you can't deny na sa aming lahat, sila talaga ang pinaka close. Moira and Gretchen might have a lot of differences but those things made their bond stronger compared to any of us.

While me I only have Kuya Vince. But he's leaving today and will be gone for two years. Paano na ako?

"Vee, ikaw na lang mag-shred nung mga files na hindi na kailangan. Ako na lang diyan." Moira offered with a gentle voice. I feel like she knows that something's wrong but she's not asking me about it.

"No, Moi, okay lang. Ako na dito." I declined. She seems hesitant na pumayag pero alam niya rin yata na hindi ako papayag sa gusto niya.

"Okay." She nodded. "Pero assist kita dyan pagkatapos ko."

"Sige, Moi. Thank you."

KD just looked at me. He seemed curious but he didn't say anything.

We went back to working. I just focused on my work and the next thing I knew, 5 pm na.

I felt a warm hand touch the lower part of my back. Lumingon ako and I was greeted with KD's concerned look.

"Nauna na si Moira." He informed me. He sighed "I'm sorry kung hindi kita nakausap kanina. I just don't know how to approach you."

"It's okay, KD."

He pulled me closer to him. "Are you okay, Vee? What's wrong? Moira told me na parang umiiyak ka daw. You can talk to me, Vee."

I don't know if I should tell the reason why I'm upset. Pero hindi ko rin naman na maitago sa kanya so I decided to tell the truth to him.

"Si Kuya Vince kasi. . ." Hindi ko pa natatapos ang sasabihin ko when tears started to roll down my cheeks.

"Why, Vee? Nag-away ba kayo ulit? Tell me everything." He said while caressing my back, trying to calm me down.

I shook my head. "N-No. He's l-leaving, KD. Pupunta siya sa K-Korea." I stopped when I sobbed. "He'll stay there for two years, KD. Two years. He's leaving today and I just found out a-about it last night!"

My tears fell continously. Parang hindi ko na mapigilan.

KD continued to caress my back. He's still wearing his concerned expression.

"Shh, Vee, it's okay." He said, he wiped my tears with his thumb. "It's not like Korea's on the other side of the world. Pwede mo naman siyang puntahan do'n anytime you want."

"No, KD, he said that I shouldn't try to follow him. He doesn't even want me to call him. That I need to give him space." Reklamo ko pa.

KD took a deep breath then he pulled me into an embrace. I put my arms around his waist and cried into his chest.

"Vee, do you love him? Si Vince?" He asked.

I pulled away from him so I can look at his face. "Oo naman, KD. I do love him. But not in the way that he wants me to."

He avoided my gaze. And after a few moments, he looked into my eyes again.

"Are you sure, Vee? That you don't love him in that way?"
