You Ask Me

You ask me why I love you?
It's just because I do.
You make me want to spend the rest of my life with you,
Because deep down we know this ain't nothing new.

We could do it all for love,
Through the night we drove.
But you're also my best friend,
And this isn't a pretend.

Just for you I'd run through the battle,
But if that's not what you like I could also settle.
I'm not being possessive,
But when I look at others I feel dismissive.

The way you look at me,
Makes me almost believe.
That I'm your queen or goddess,
And I should never demand less.

I feel like I need to be the better myself,
To be more than just a book on a shelf.
Yet I'm relaxed and chill,
That's our thrill.

I feel like I'm me,
More than you'd ever see.
You know you bring me higher than heaven or nirvana,
And I don't love you because I have to but I wanna.

But at the same time you're do far away,
I wish we could just lay.
In my bed and make you feel so good,
You like that and know I would.
