Chapter Nineteen
Calum puts the next movie into his laptop, and the opening credits are barely rolling through when I feel myself drifting off. Before long, I'm dreaming of dark hair and a bass guitar.
Calum POV
The movie has barely started before I hear soft snores beside me. I look down to where Anni is now curled up beside me, fast asleep. I can't help the small smile that graces my features as her nose twitches, after I brush her cheek softly with the pad of my thumb.
I don't know how long I spend watching Anni sleep, but it was simply so adorable I couldn't look away. Just watching the way her mouth hangs ever so slightly open, with the little flyaway hairs covering parts of her face. Not wanting the movie to wake her up, I shut my laptop quietly, plunging the room into almost darkness, with the only light available travelling through the shutters on my window. After carefully placing my laptop on the ground beside me, I look back at the deeply unconscious girl beside me.
Looking at her now, she was bathed in moonlight, the picture of serenity, other than the fact that her mouth was now hanging freely open .She looked so adorable that I couldn't help but pull my phone off of my bedside table and snap a quick picture of her asleep, chuckling quietly as I did so.
Unfortunately, with my forgetfulness, the flash on my phone went off as I took the picture. After the bright light lit up the room momentarily, Anni began to stir. Shoving my phone quickly underneath my pillow, I pretend to be just packing up my laptop.
Anni mumbles something incoherently, as she rubs a tired hand over her face. I try to hide a small grin at her cuteness. She shuffled around, clearly disorientated by where she was.
"Anni." I whisper, unsuccessfully trying to gain her attention, but she still manages to jolt at the sound of my voice. After realising it was just me, she relaxes slightly. But she quickly stiffens again,
"Shit!" she hisses.
"What?" I ask, panic rising within me.
"I was meant to be dropped home hours ago!" she panics. I don't bother telling her that she had only been asleep for ten minutes tops, I tell her instead that she can spend the night at mine.
"Really? Is that okay with your parents?" she asks, still tense.
"Yeah it will be fine," I reply, waving my hand dismissively, "You can wear something of mine, or my sisters, Mali-Koa wouldn't mind I don't think... You can also sleep in the guest room." I add.
"Okay..." she says, still sounding hesitant. I slide of my bed with a rustle, and she quickly grips my arm, asking where I was going.
"Just going to grab some clothes from Mali's room, I'll be just a minute."
She shakes her head, "Don't worry about that, you'll probabably wake her up, and I don't think she would be happy about that. I'll just wear what I'm wearing now to bed."
Now it was my turn to shake my head, "Anni, as great as those clothes look, they do not seem comfortable enough to sleep in. You can just wear a shirt of mine."
She nods her head after a moment of contemplation. I make my way to my chest of drawers, and pull out an old shirt of mine, along with a pair of football shorts. I make my way back to her, and hand her the clothes.
She holds the clothes to her chest, and looks at me expectantly. I stare at her until she hisses tiredly at me,
"Calum, turn around!"
My eyes widen, oh shit, she was waiting for me to turn around while she changed. That made sense, I mean, of course she wouldn't just drop her clothes in front of me. I quickly turn around and jump back onto my bed, which creaks loudly. As I shove my face into the pillow that Anni was using previously, I hear her giggle. I let out a muffled chuckle until I heard the sound of clothes falling to the floor.
