Chapter Twenty Seven

Anni POV

"Wait, wait, wait, he did what?!" Aimee screeches throwing down the trash bag. I shake my head at her theatrics,

"He asked me on a date, so I said yes." I repeat, continuing to pick up the rubbish that littered the entirety of the house. It was the afternoon after the party, and now Aimee, Grace, Megan and I were stuck with the job of cleaning the mess up, whilst the boys nursed their hangovers.

The girls and I had decided to not drink as much as the boys, knowing that we didn't want to spend the first day of the new year with a hangover. But even then, that still didn't stop us from having one bitch of a headache.

"Do you know what you're going to do on it?" Grace asks. Shaking my head I reply,

"I didn't really get a chance to talk about it with him in detail," I was too busy making out with him "But I think it will be something casual. He knows that I wouldn't really want anything fancy." The girls nod their heads, and the next couple minutes are silent.

We are all going about our business of cleaning the house before my parents and siblings get home, when Megan breaks the silence.

"Michael asked me to be his girlfriend, by the way." She says nonchalantly, picking up another plastic cup. Our reaction is instantaneous, with us all letting out high pitched squeals and hugging Megan in excitement. Grace, Aimee and I are all bombarding her with questions,

"When did he-"

"How did he-"

"Did you suck his-"

Megan holds up her hands in mock defence,

"People, people, one question at a time." she laughs. Aimee is the first to blurt out her question,

"When did he ask you?!"

"He asked me that night we were all over at his place on Christmas Eve, after everyone had left. And, before you ask me how, we were slow dancing to my favourite 'All Time Low' song, 'Remembering Sunday', and he just...asked me, I guess."

We all stand there shocked by her explanation, gobsmacked by how casual she was about the whole thing. But before we could respond, she squeals,

"But he was so nervous, and it was adorable, and-" she lets out a high-pitched screeching noise, and we all join in. Like some bad teen-chick-flick, we all grabbed hands and jumped up and down like absolute maniacs.

After several minutes of hysteria, and several more minutes of groaning due to our worsening headaches, we manage to return to normal. Or at least as normal as we could get. Through our -now calm- chatter, I feel my phone buzz from the back pocket of my shorts. Excusing myself from my conversation with Grace, I pull out my phone to see a text from non-other than Calum himself. It read;

From Calpal :P

You still on for the date?

From Anni

Yeah of course! When do you want to go?

It was several minutes later that I finally get a response,

From Calpal :P

Does tonight sound good to you, babe ;) Gonna rock your world!!

I frown at his message, confused by the sudden change in tone. It was not like Cal at all... I send back,

From Anni
