it is always those little things, i think. happiness slipping quietly through a back door, and little gestures of selfless kindness that make your day better. short moments that contain magic and still beauty. soft hellos and sunset smiles. helping others. making others happy and feeling happy for them. riding on the back of a friend's bike, passing through a slumbering neighbourhood, the moon pale against the pink sky. spontaneous gifts. waking at four am to see the sky set in flames. genuine compliments. late night walks and conversations about dreams and passions.
it is those tiny details. mere microscopic dust in this universal time, and yet so precious to let slip through our fingers. you can find beauty anywhere, anytime. the art of living is to be in the present moment, and surrender to the current that takes you away from the shore. it is those moments that you cannot capture with your camera, but resonate somewhere inside your chest. sometimes we are too busy trying to find something. happiness, a soulmate, a reason for everything. and we end up forgetting to live in the present, because we have been chasing after what is not a goal to seek, but really just a state of mind.
all we have to do is breathe. let go. plunge through the fears and worries. everything you are searching for will come when you are not looking. happiness. love. peace. it starts from your mind. with self-love and a feeling of acceptance and gratitude. what you are seeking is not sourced in a place nor a person, or anything of matter and substance. your surroundings reflect your inner self. you are the one choosing to see beauty around you. moving on from hardships. you are the one choosing positive energy over negative energy. and your mindset and perspective does affect your life, in small ways that end up making a large change.
