Sky's POV
So, it was time to vote for prom queen and king. I was so nervous. I was originally going to vote for Shaina since she was new, but she went home.
"Vote for each other?" Lulu asked me.
"Yeah," I said.We were passed a voting ticket and a pen to pick a prom queen and king. Immediately, I slid a tick by Lulu's name. Now for the king. I could vote myself? I didn't exactly fancy being a king. I ticked a random name for the king section, and then handed in my vote. Lulu already finished her voting.
Suddenly, Mr Woodland walked on stage, adjusting his bowtie, "Good evening fellow students! We now are about to count the votes - anymore that need to be handed in must be given to me now, please and thank you!"
He stepped off stage, and the music continued."Lou, imagine if one of us is prom queen. That would be the dream," I sighed, sitting on the fountain's edge.
Lulu laughed, "Yeah, imagine. There's no way people would vote for us."
"There's a possibility."
"If only..."The nervousness built up. I felt my heart racing. I knew there was no way I would be going up, but it still panicked me.
"I'm scared!" I exclaimed, "My palms are all sweaty."
"Same! Anxiety is the very least to describe this!" Lulu kicked her leg.
"You should try out for the mermaid swim team!" I suggested, jumping off the fountain and landing in front of Lulu, "Seriously."
She scrunched up her nose and shrugged.
"Well..." She muttered, "I might. I just don't know anyone. I've only ever stuck with you girls."
"I know how you feel, trust me," I murmured, "Anyway-"The music stopped. Mr Woodland was back on stage.
"The votes have been counted!" He announced.
The crowd screamed. Some jumped, some danced, some even hid beneath the crowd overall. I was one of those hiding.
"Calm down, calm down. Okieee dokieee....so! The prom king...Deku!"The crowd screamed, and turned to a small boy. He froze, in complete shock.
"Go up!" The crowd chanted.
I felt so bad for the guy. But, I also felt...attracted to him. Slowly, the small guy walked up to the stage, nervously and anxiously looking around. Poor boy.Once he sat on the mini throne with a sparkling crown on his head, the whole crowd went wild.
"YAY DEKU!" I heard someone scream.
Wow. They must love this dude. Take notes.
"Shhh! I'm now going to read out who the prom queen is!" Mr Woodland said.
The crowd were silenced. I didn't understand the fuss. After all, it wasn't anything major...He opened the envelope and smiled, "The prom queen is...SKY GRACE!"
My heart dropped. Lulu screamed in happiness, "Go on stage!"
Cameras were being pointed at me, and lights shone down on me.
The whole crowd turned to me, staring in shock. Of course. Nobody expected me to win. Neither did I. I felt myself flushing red. Slowly, I took a step forward, gulping.
"Come on up, Sky!"I nodded, and made my way through the crowd, up on stage beside Deku. 3...2...1...I sat on the throne, and felt a crown being placed on my head. Then, the crowd screamed, "CONGRATULATIONS!"
Mr Woodland hopped off stage, and the music carried on. All the students were dancing, singing along to the music loudly. Nervously, I looked around for Lulu but couldn't spot her anywhere. Where was she in this time of need?
"Good evening, milady," I heard someone say.
I turned to my left, and realised it was the boy.
"Good...good evening," I mumbled.
"Nervous?"
I nodded, tucking my hair in front of me, "I've never experienced this in my life."
"We're on the same page," he began, "I've never done this either."He ran his fingers through his hair, and beamed at me, "Crazy to think that people would vote for me."
"Yeah," I whispered, "This is incredibly awkward."
"It is?" He asked, "Well, to start off with, I am Deku."
I smiled, "Sky."
"Such a pretty name!" He exclaimed, clearly delighted, "So, how long have you attended Royale High."
I wiped my palms on my dress, tucked my hair behind my ear and looked into his eyes. His dreamy eyes."Two years now. Got another three years to go." I whispered, "You?"
"Long time, huh? I've only just joined. I am from Boku No Hero Academia. You should come down sometime."
"Really?"
"Yep."
"Whereabout is B..b..uki?.."
Deku laughed, "Boku no hero academia. You can call it hero academy. It's on the opposite side of the forest you use to get in the portal."
I blinked multiple times. No way. That's so weird."I've never seen it before..." I said.
"Ah!" He exclaimed, "Now, we use this border shield thing. It's invisible to the eye."
"So, how am I supposed to get in?"
"Well, you use a necklace. A hero academia necklace, not just any other thing found in your jewellery box."
"But, I don't have any academy necklace of yours."Deku pressed a necklace into my hand, "Well, now you do! Now, milady, I will be off to my dorm, so sorry, but good even-"
"Deku?" I asked.
"Yes?"
"Wait."
"Okay.
I gulped, "If I wanted to bring a couple of friends, could we just use this one necklace?"
Deku nodded, "Make sure you are together though. You'll figure it out when you get there."
"Thanks."
He kissed my hand, and looked into my eyes, "Good evening! Hope to see you soon."Suddenly, the midnight bell rang. Mr Woodland hopped back on stage, "GOOD NIGHT LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! GO TO YOUR DORMS! REMEMBER: CAMPING TOMORROW! THERE WILL BE AN ASSEMBLY IN THE MORNING! GOOD NIGHT!"
I walked down from the stage, greeted by Lulu, "Congratulations! I'm so proud of you! So, I saw you and that boy...talking, if you know what I mean."
"I'll tell you everything. Just hurry, we need to go back to our dorms!" I gasped. We hurried back to our dorm.
