Chapter 33: Let's Get Ready

Sky's POV
Finally, I was home. We were home. The sun had set. It was currently 5pm, and there we all were, slouching on the sofas whilst watching anime.
"BNHA is the best!" I exclaimed, "You see why?"
Shaina shrugged, "Meh. I prefer Royale High."
"Well, of course... But, BNHA is iconic."
"And we're not?" Lulu asked, giggling hysterically.
"Nope!" I laughed, "One day we should go to Boku No Hero Academy. You'd enjoy it."

Gumball rolled her eyes, "Just so you can flirt with Deku!"
I felt myself blushing a bright red, "You're not wrong there!"
"We've got three more hours until prom, so I'm probably going to the Student Lounge in an hour, therefore I have two hours to get ready!" Lulu announced, crossing her legs, "Anyone with me?"
"Yeah, I'll come," I agreed, "Gives us enough time."
Rose nodded, "These curls don't come in an hour, I'm going to need two whole hours."
"Alright, guess I'm coming!"

"Boku no hero's finished," Lulu yelled to me.
I was across the room, in the kitchen, prepping a small dish of chicken curry, "Aww, shucks! We could watch another episode..."
"NO!" The four girls cried.
I laughed to myself. I was kidding. These girls were the dopiest lot I've ever met - I do love them though.
"Can we please watch Monster-In-Law now?" Lulu asked, "I've been wanting to watch it for a solid hour now!"
"What's the time?" Rose asked, prodding Gumball.
Gumball's eyes lit up.
"Guys!" she shouted, "Stop what you're doing and get your dresses! It's 6:10pm!"
I dropped the bowl of salad on the counter, in shock.
"I'll clean it up later, come on girls!"
We all ran to get our things, eventually leaving our dorm.

Currently, we had arrived to the student lounge. The room was filled with multiple students, all of them rushing.
"Um, where do we go?!" I cried, scanning the room.
I could hardly see. It was claustrophobic.
"Uhh!" Shaina hesitated, "Wait, there's an unlocked room here! It isn't reserved! Quick, before someone else gets it!"
Hurriedly and rapidly, all of us crammed into the room, locking the door behind us.
"It's quite big in here...but there's 5 of us!" Rose exploded, "Plus the dresses!"
"Just get ready," I snapped, "Unless you wanna be late for the prom."
Rose took a long, heavy gulp and nodded.

I slipped on my dress, adjusting it to my shoulders. Now that the dress was on, I had to worry about hair and makeup. I should've hired someone! I couldn't do makeup at all! Hesitantly, I picked up a brush. What do I do? I didn't even plan how to do my hair! Nonetheless, I began yanking at my hair with the brush, making my head sore until my hair was smooth. Then, I scooped it all into a classic bun, and tied it all together with a few crystallized hair ties + a jewel encrusted clasp. Good enough.

Now, my make-up. At that point, I was lost. I knew that Lulu and Shaina knew how to do makeup, but they were still getting ready.
"I need help with make-up!" I said, "I have no idea what this stuff is!"
Rose turned to me, holding a tube in her hand, "I'll do it."
"Thank you!" I exclaimed.

Rose began applying a soft cream to my face, followed by something for my lips.
"That should be good enough!" Rose said, turning back to her hair curlers, "I've gotta curl my hair now!"
"Thank you!" I repeated.
What now?! I've done everything right?..

"Oh no!" I cried
"What?"
"I forgot to get my clutch!"
"Oh gosh.."

Seriously?! I forgot my mini handbag. It was a statement piece. I could go back to my dorm and retrieve it...but I wasn't willing to risk being late.
"You know what," I said, boldly, "Screw clutches. I just need a coffee cup!"
Lulu laughed, tucking a flower into her bun, "You are literally my spirit animal."

Finally. This was it. I was ready. All of us were ready.
"And prom starts in 3 minutes!" Gumball said, "Girls, wait outside! A carriage should come for us!"
We walked out of the student lounge, greeted by two horses and a driver: "Hello, ladies! Hurry, hurry! Come aboard!"

We smiled, and climbed on to the carriage. Off we go.
