Chapter 24: I beg your pardon

[ everyone fell asleep. this chapter is set in the next morning ]

Lulu's POV
I was so tired. So so tired. I had woken up at 8am. Seriously too early, especially when I'm having a day off.
As soon as I woke up, I groaned. Repeatedly, I whacked my head on my pillow.
"Stupid Lou," I muffled, face-planting the pillow.
I rolled over to the wall, and didn't move for at least a few seconds. Suddenly, a knocking sound came. I stuffed my head on my pillow. The knock came again.
I jumped out of bed, "COMING!"

Hurriedly, I walked to the front door (
"Hello?" I asked, sleepily.
Suddenly, I realised Mr Woodland was standing at the door with a girl the same height as me.

"Greetings, Miss Lulu! May I come in?" he asked, pleasantly, lifting his head and adjusting his tie.
I blinked, sleepily. Mr Woodland coughed, signalling me to wake up.
"Uh- sorry! Very tired. Yes, of course. Please do come in!" I opened the door widely for them, allowing them to come in.
Mr Woodland walked in first, followed by the girl who smiled at me. I flashed her a smile, shutting the door behind her.

Mr Woodland paced around the room, his shoes tapping against the lino floorboards.
"What brings you here, Mr Woodland?" I asked, politely, "Can I help?"
"Ahh," He said, walking over to the sofa, and sitting, "Shaina, please, come sit."
"Yeah.." I murmured, "Make yourself comfortable..."
The girl in the corner stood, awkwardly, rubbing her arm, "I'm fine, thank you."
"Suit yourself," Mr Woodland said, shrugging, "Lulu, please do sit. In fact, before that, could you awake your roommates? It would be much easier to discuss."
"Of course!" I smiled, and hurriedly hobbled into the bedroom.

I was panicking. So bad. Did Mr Woodland find out we were lying about what had truly happened?! Were we going to be excluded?!

Immediately, I began shaking Gumball.
"WAKE UP!" I hissed.
She tossed and turned, ignoring me.
"Mr Woodland is here and he is deadly serious!"
Gumball suddenly bolted up, "WHAT?!"
"Wake Sky up with me!"
I rapidly shook Sky, hissing.

We all walked together into the living room, on edge. I blinked rapidly, my heart beating and thudding. I'm sure the other girls felt the same. As soon as Sky saw the girl, she frowned, "Who's she?!"
Immediately, Gum covered Sky's mouth, "SHH!"

"Mr Woodland!" Gumball exclaimed, "What brings you here?"
Mr Woodland turned around, and a wide smile stretched across his face, "Felicity Gum! Sky Grace! Ahh, so good to see you!"
"Good to see you too!"
"Bon appetite!"
I turned to Sky, and pulled a face. Why did she have to say "Bon Appetite"?
"Bon Appetite! Hahaha!" Admirably, he didn't tell us off.
Thank goodness.
"Sit, we have something to discuss!"

Mr Woodland opened up his folder and pulled out a sheet - a student file?
"I am not hiring you for the FBI! Don't worry!" He exclaimed, cackling.
"So," He began, "This is rather big news. Let this sink in: this girl, Shaina Lilia, will be joining your dorm."
I blinked, confusingly.
Sky coughed, "I beg your pardon?"
Mr Woodland tutted, "Do I have to repeat myself?"
"No, no!" Sky hurriedly babbled, "I was in shock, that's all! You know, we hardly ever get new roommates so I automatically felt-"
"Sky Grace!" Mr Woodland exclaimed, "I was joking. Calm down."
Sky nodded.
"Sir, may I ask something?" Gumball asked.
Mr Woodland nodded.
"We don't have an extra bed for Shaina..."
"I've already got that sorted!" Mr Woodland clapped his hands, "Go check your bedroom, there will be another bed!"
We checked, and boy was he right. Not short after, we returned to the living room.

"Shaina, please come over and introduce yourself!" Mr Woodland ordered, beckoning the girl over.
Shaina shyly approached us, and slowly smiled, "Hi. I'm Shaina. I'm part werewolf...a shewolf...umm, I hope we can be friends?..."
I smiled. Gumball smiled. Sky smiled.
"Of course," Gumball welcomed her, "We're friends with anyone!"
Mr Woodland smiled widely once again, "Ahhh, lovely! Well, girls, I've got to go! I will see you later, any problems report to me!! Bye!" He clapped his hands and disappeared.

I somehow managed to pluck up the confidence to speak to her, "I'm Lulu. I'm a fish out of water: basically a mermaid."
"Lucky you're not a vampire!" Shaina said, flicking her hair behind her ears, giggling.
I laughed along with her. This girl was amazing already.
Sky cleared her throat, "Uhhh, I'm a gh- oh wait no, my name first right? I'm Sky, and I turn into a ghost at night whenever I wish to!"
"That's so cool!" Shaina exclaimed.
Sky smirked, "It really is!"
Gumball, being as extra as she is, stood up, "Hii! My names Felicity, but everyone either calls me Gum or Gumball. I'm a genie!"
"I love that! How about gummy?" Shaina exclaimed.
"Whatever floats your boat!" Gumball exclaimed.
