Studying the green area that held rows of flowers and trees Brooke smiled. It was amazing to see the beauty that could be accomplished even in a place that never got rain. Letting go of her hand, she smelled some roses that were in a bloom and felt the pedals of a succulent that towered out of the ground.

"I grew that from a seed."

"Everyone says how much of a horrible person you are but you make apple pies and garden." Brooke stated crossing her arms. "Do you have me fooled or do you have an actual soul?"

"I think everyone just reads me wrong." Mrs. Davidson lied picking up her tools and a potted plant. "I can be stand offish but it's not because of anything in particular."

"I just wanted to make sure you weren't going to eat me or something."

Smiling at the thoughts in her head Mrs. Davidson started moving the soil to make a spot for a hibiscus. "Maybe I am a bitch, but I don't want to be one with you." Getting up she let Brooke kneel down in front of the small hole she dug. Sitting behind her took the plant out of the pot and handed it to the girl.

"The dirts falling." Brooke whispered trying to keep it all contained.

Reaching her hands over her Mrs. Davidson cupped the girl's hands and guided them down to set the flower into its place. Brooke caught on quickly and started pushing the pile of dirt over to cover the hole. Feeling something odd on her arm, she looked over and let her eyes grow wide. Screaming she threw herself backwards making both of them fall onto their backs.

"What's wrong?!" Getting up and crawling over to her Mrs. Davidson looked her up and down trying to figure out what had happened.

Letting her smile turn into a laugh Brooke covered her face in embarrassment. "It was just a Lady Bug."

Raising her eyebrow she looked over to see it fly around frantically for a minute and land on the top of the flower they had just planted. Looking back over at the girl Mrs. Davidson laid down next to her and grabbed her arms that were hiding her face. Refusing to move them Brooke laughed trying with all her might to keep her hands steady, but the taller woman used more strength and held them down so she couldn't move. "Pretty brown eyes and a mind full of thoughts." Mrs. Davidson stared at her for a few seconds before letting her lip curl.

"I've never liked my eyes. My dad's eyes are blue like yours."

"But yours are cooler."

Brooke repositioned her head still unable to move. "How?"

"Both our eyes are just different parts of the ocean Brooke. Mine are the warm tropical seas but yours are the depths that hold the real mysterious."

Biting the bottom of her lip nervously the younger girl finally broke out of Mrs. Davidson's grip. She usually knew exactly what to do because she had morals and rules, but she didn't have any rule to not flirt with her teacher. How was she supposed to react?

"Where are you going?"

Looking down at the dirt still on her hands she shrugged, "Home I suppose."

"Let me give you a ride." Getting up and wiping her dirty hands on her pants Mrs. Davidson looked at her trying to figure out what she was thinking. "Before you go I have something to ask you."

Walking back inside the white comforting house Brooke went to the sink and started scrubbing her hands.

"I talked to your father about his financial stance." Mrs. Davidson lied handing the towel to the shorter girl. "He says you try to help a lot but there's not much coming in."

"That doesn't seem like your business." Brooke whispered crossing her arms and searching for a clock.

"It's probably not, but he trusted me enough to tell me." The blonde woman walked over closer to her, "After school tomorrow why don't you come over and help me with a few things? She handed over some money and smiled trying to persuade her to take it.

"I don't want you to just give me money." Brooke rubbed her face trying to figure out what to do.

"Fine you can work for it." Grabbing her hand Mrs. Davidson pulled her close. "What do you say?"

"Isn't it wrong for me to even be here Mrs. Davidson? I mean...you're my teacher!"

"This is a small town Brooke." Stopping when their faces were only inches apart the blonde let her eyes scan her face. "Everyone is related to everyone and everyone helps each other out. Your father put his trust in me to keep you safe, and that's what I'm going to do. No one will find that weird."

Brooke closed her eyes and smelled the flower scents that whiffed towards her when the woman got closer. It still felt weird to be in this situation, but she had never been warned about such things. What was she supposed to do? Clearly this woman was flirting with her, but she never had anyone flirt so much that it actually went to the next step. And never in a million years did she imagine someone like her to do it.

"Look at me, Brooke." Mrs. Davidson smiled when she obliged. "No one has to know about anything." She licked her lips and held her against the counter. "Trust me, you would be taken care of."

"You're married and-!"

"Separated."

Brooke sighed, "He's a politician. He needs a good image. What if someone finds-"

"No one will know anything." Mrs. Davidson interrupted again. Putting her hand under Brooke's head, she softly put her lips on the girls. Carefully she moved their lips to join together and pushed her body against hers. She wanted to keep going. Mark the girl as her own and take what she wanted, but she knew when to stop. Moving away and loosening her grip Mrs. Davidson smiled. "See? Nothing happened."

Still shocked Brooke felt the woman put more money in her hand.

"As long as this stays our little secret." She whispered brushing a loose strand of Brooke's hair back.

Nodding the girl took a few deep breaths. "What am I supposed to do with the money?"

"Go to the store tomorrow evening and buy a dress. Come to my house Tuesday after school in that dress with curled hair." Mrs.Davidson walked to the sink and looked out the window."Buy some heels too."

"But what for?"

"For me to look at."

Brooke stopped counting the money and looked up to meet the woman's eyes. "You're giving me money so you can look at me in nice things?" Suddenly she felt dirty.

"Try it. If it doesn't work out it doesn't work out."Mrs. Davidson reasoned."Think it over."

She stared at the crumbled cash in her hand. She would have to weigh them down with books to make them flat again. "I think I would like to go home now."

"Of course." Holding her hand out the blonde narrowed her eyes to see what the girl would do.

Taking her hand into her own Brooke sighed almost disappointed at her decision while Mrs. Davidson grinned an evil grin.
