Lea waited at the dining room table as Brooke moved around quickly, she felt weird not helping but she knew she would only get in the way. Brooke had a system within herself as she twirled through the kitchen talking to herself and humming. Clearing her throat Lea tried to get her attention but when that didn't work she just sat back in her seat and observed how clean her friends house was. It actually made her tired how hard she worked. Even though the rain started pouring outside she went on like it was a normal day.

Awkwardly getting up she crossed her arms and slowly made her way to the kitchen. She wanted to talk to her, but she didn't know what to say. Brooke was such a complicated soul. Her mind worked a hundred miles a minute while everyone complained online about misinterpreted words. "What are you making?" She finally asked.

Tippy toeing to trying and reach some spices up in the cabinet she let out an exaggerated sigh. "My dad is hosting another dinner at the civic center, like the last dinner that went GREAT!" She grabbed a chair and drug it over making an annoying screeching noise. "I haven't even told my dad that I decided to make pie instead of cake."

Lea puckered her lips trying to keep up, "Would he be upset about that?"

Stepping up and standing on the cabinet Brooke started looking through all the spices,"He thinks pie is too white trash, but pie is obviously more sophisticated than cake."

Running her tongue along her teeth Lea shook her head not understanding. "He asked you to make it?"

"No, I'm making it, so I don't show up empty handed."

"But your dad's hosting?"

"I'm going with Mrs. Davidson."

Letting her arms fall Lea didn't bother hiding how stunned she was, "Why are you going with her?"

Climbing down from the chair with her arm full of bottles she smiled at her friend, "That's the good news I was going to tell you! I turned in a request yesterday, and Mr. Stevenson said I can graduate in two weeks isn't that great?"

Lea raised her voice trying to figure everything out. "Why would you graduate early and why the fuck would you go with her?"

Furrowing her eyebrows the brunette laughed like it was obvious, "We're dating Lea."

Not controlling herself she grabbed Brooke's shoulders and pushed her against the cabinet making the spices she once held spill onto the floor. "She's bad news Brooke!"

"I don't care if you like her or not Lea, I understand where your coming from but it's not your decision!" She tried pushing Lea away, but she held tighter.

"I know things you don't!"

"Then tell me or move."

Tightening her jaw Lea realized she had to confess, even if it made her look bad too. "She threatened me, Brooke, she broke into Casey's house and got us jobs in California so we couldn't tell you what she's done!"

"If that's true then why didn't you tell me." The shorter girl questioned staring intently at her friends now soft eyes.

"She was paying me. She said If I said anything she would tell people I smoked and my mom sold."

Brooke held her hand up and scoffed, "Get off of me." When her friend moved back she walked past her and grabbed her phone.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm telling her to come over so you both can explain to me what's going on."

Running over to her Lea laughed nervously,"Why would you call her? I'm telling you how horrible she is!"

"All I've heard is that you lied and took bribery money. You told me nothing until it suited you so I don't know what I can believe. She will answer for herself."

Picking her nails Lea tried figuring out what was going on, she just came clean but now that she had a good job in California she couldn't let her old teacher ruin it for her. Sure Brooke meant something to her, but it didn't matter anymore. Mrs. Davidson got the girl who she seemed very desperate to keep, and Brooke was happy. "I lied."

Hanging up her phone Brooke squinted her eyes, "What?"

"I lied...because I like you."

Sighing the brunette sat on her couch. "Just back up and explain this to me again."

Lea looked down at the ground and tried to gather own thoughts. "I've had a crush on you since I met you, but I never told you. Then this hot blonde teacher comes in and swoops you off of your feet..." She shook her head,"I was just jealous I guess."

Hearing the beep go off from the stove Brooke rolled her eyes and left the living room leaving her friend alone.

Standing there for a few seconds Lea twirled her thumbs and looked up at the ceiling. There was no saving herself from that. She didn't even know what Brooke was thinking, was she mad? Happy to know her true love was her friend all along? Was she ready to break up with the blonde devil and move to California?

"Don't worry it didn't burn!"

Rolling her eyes Lea rubbed her temples after seeing Brooke carry the steaming pie and set it on the table to cool. "Do you think we could have ever worked?"

Taking off her oven mitts Brooke smiled sweetly. "No."

Surprised the taller girl scoffed almost offended. "I have money now! I could give you the same if not more than her."

"It's not all about money Lea."

"She's beautiful and charming, and she makes you feel special, doesn't she?

Brooke shrugged not knowing what to say.

"How can you have so much feeling's for the stupidest things yet not have anything to say about actual human emotions?" Lea grabbed her things from the table. "You know what I'm glad you two have each other. You are both fucked up and crazy."

"There's a person for everyone." Brooke whispered seeing her friend gather her stuff.

"Ya and for you that's a psychiatrist."

Blinking a few times Brooke gave a weak smile.

"Brooke I-"

Holding her hand out she shook her head,"I think it's time for you to go."

Closing her eyes and sighing Lea nodded. She opened the door to let the cool air in as the rain misted inside. She laughed seeing Mrs. Davidson shake her umbrella dry. "OH look who it is."

"Is everything ok?" The blonde looked between the two and furrowed her brows.

Lea pushed last her so the older woman watched her walk down the sidewalk confused. "What's going on?" She closed the door behind her. "I saw you called but when I called back you didn't answer so I got worried." Turning Mrs. Davidson froze seeing her girlfriend eye her down like her bullshit meter was in the red danger zone.

"We need to talk."
