I was walking around my father- the King's house, trying to find him. I wasn't the Cheshire Cat and I wasn't wanting to kill him. I only wanted to get through to the small part of him that might be there. The others were outside in case something were to happen. They wanted to come inside with me, but I told them that I had to do this alone. After a few minutes, I finally convinced them to just wait in the car so that they would still be there if something goes wrong.
I had searched most of the rooms in the house stealthily. I haven't run into any of the King's men yet which was kind of surprising. They could be trying to recover from when I attacked as the Cheshire Cat. Cheshire really did a number on this place. The main entrance hall was still trashed from when she messed it up.
After searching for awhile, I finally see the silhouette of my father standing in front of the fireplace. The fire was slowly dying out and the air in the room was tense. I slowly and quietly tried to sneak up behind him. I had a plan, you see. I was going to try to get close enough to touch him and go into his mind. All I could do was hope that the King wouldn't see me or hear me.
I slowly reached up and then put my fingers on both sides of his head. The King started to yell at me and tried to get away, but I was too quick. I closed my eyes and tried not to let go. I also did a mental check that my knife was hidden in my waistband of my jeans. I wasn't planning on using it, but if it got to the point where I had to... I wasn't sure if I could actually do it. I focused on what I needed to do and suddenly it felt like everything changed around me...
I opened my eyes to see I was standing in a very familiar looking garden. It was the garden that was at the palace in Wonderland. This was the place my father and I would spend most of our days. I'm in his subconscious. All I need to do now is find him. Where would he be? Then it suddenly hit me. There was this place near the middle of the hedge maze where we would scheme and come up with pranks. We would also talk and just relax in that place.
Not many people went that far into the maze because they were afraid of getting lost. We weren't though. We were confident in our skills of finding our way back. It was the place we would always go to just be alone. I, thankfully, remembered the way there and made my way to it. Surely enough, he was there. He seemed more like himself too. This was definitely the father that I had as a kid.
Before I talked to him, I looked around at our hide out. It was actually really beautiful. There were plenty of red and white roses. There was a part of the maze that had blue roses and I was absolutely obsessed with it as a kid. They would always have to drag me out of there when it got late. There were trees that had apples and other fruits. There was also a beautiful fountain in the middle of it all. It was made of stone and the water was as blue as the sky on a clear and sunny day.
