"I'd wait out the sun and moon if it meant you'd be with me at the end of the day."
Yoongi POV
Everyday, since I was five, I would go down to the pond in the hidden garden behind my school.
The garden was small but it was the most magical place in the world.
The whole place was surrounded by trees and the only light it would get was the sunlight that would come streaming through the leaves and the moonlight at night.
Fireflies would dance around the garden and light up every perfect little flower.
In the middle of it all was the most beautiful pond in the world. It was always so calm and still. The only movement it would get was when the fishes and frogs would move around. There was an arched wooden bridge that went across it and on the other side was an abandoned piano.
I played there everyday after school or between lessons. But one day when I got there, there was already a little girl sitting at my piano.
"Hey! Who are you and what are you doing with my piano?"
She looked up at me and hid. I thought I had scared her off until I heard a soft sob coming from behind the piano.
I felt sorry for yelling at her so I went to comfort her.
"Hey, don't cry" I said in the most calming voice I could manage, "Look I'm sorry for yelling at you. I just not used to people coming here and playing my piano."
She looked up at me and wiped away her tears. She was about my age with big brown eyes and long dark hair. She was about my height and kind of pale.
"What's your name?"
She looked away and didn't answer. I later found out she's a mute after hours of pestering.
"Since you won't talk, let's make a bet. You can talk right?" She nodded hesitantly. "Good. If I can make you fall in love with me by the time we graduate you have to tell me your name. No writing, texting, or whatever you have in mind. It has to be verbal. Oh also it has to be in front of me so no recordings either. Do we have a deal?"
I extended my hand and she just stared at it for a good minute or so before shaking it and smiling brightly at me.

We were now in middle school and she just grows more and more beautiful everyday.
I don't express my feelings often or very well but she seems to understand me.
We became bestfreinds after our first encounter, despite me still perusing her, and we've become inseparable ever since.

High school rolled around pretty quickly and I would be lying if I didn't say you were the most stunning person on campus.
Maybe I wasn't the only one who saw it because almost everyday there would be at least one guy in our school who confessed but since you wouldn't talk you would hide behind me instead.
You were the only girl I truly ever loved and I was devoted to you and only you. No matter the distance, thousands of miles away or something as simple as words, I would always and forever be yours.
And I think you knew that...

It was the day before graduation and we were playing in the pond. The only form of your voice that I have ever heard was your laugh. A laugh that was so enchanting and contagious that nobody could not smile.
At that moment I pulled you to the side.
"Hey, it's the day before graduation. So how'd I do? Have you fallen for me?"
She looked at me and I at her. It was like our eyes were deep oceans and we were stuck in each other's.
She looked down. I frowned when she started crying.
"Hey hey hey. Just because you don't return my feelings doesn't mean that we can't be friends and until the day you decide to love me the way I love you, I'll be here. I'll always be here, with you, no matter the distance. Anywhere in the world you are, I will be there waiting for you. Waiting for the name of the girl who has won over my heart."
She looked up and planted a soft kiss on my lips.
"Park Doha" she whispered and ran off.
I stood shocked and before I could comprehend what had happened she was gone.
••8 years later••
It's been 8 years since I last saw her. I am now twenty six years old and here I am still grieving over my lost opportunity.
I became a successful man and could have everything I could ever want. The only thing that I could never do was love again.
I reserved all of it for her and only her and even if I never see her again in this lifetime, we will meet again and again until one day I can put a ring on her finger and call her mine.
Until then I'll be waiting. Wait a thousand lifetimes if it means that I can finally close my eyes, content with the love of my life.
