Dedicated to @ToniNessa, because she gives out great advice:) and is suffering from a cold, just like me.
and now on with the story
:)
I smiled as I placed the phone down. I really did want to be with Chase, but I couldn't ruin him. I would never forgive myself.
''Hey sweetie, what would you like to eat?''
''Actually I'm going round to Chase's.'' I turned away to hide my blush.
''That's great! So are you together?''
''No, just friends.'' I wish more.
''Oh. Well do you want to me take you?''
''No it's fine.''
''I like the boy, but that doesn't mean he could just be hiding behind a mask.''
''What?''
''You know, I have to make sure he doesn't smoke anything illegal. Hopefully he doesn't smoke.''
''Mom! Please don't do this. He's not a smoker, I've known him for two years and he barely drinks, never mind uses drugs.''
''Fine, but I would still like to take you.''
''Fine. But can you get me ready please?'' My mom was huge in fashion, she was like my own personal fashion dresser.
''I would love to. Why don't you do your hair while I pack your bag.'' She suggested. Why would she want to pack a bag? Instead of arguing about it, I walked to my parents room and found her hair accessories.
''What are you doing that for?'' I turned around and saw my dad standing with his head to the side.
''I'm going over to Chase's and mom said to redo my hair a little."
''I see.'' My dad sat on the edge of the bed and I knew what was coming. ''You sure you just want him as a friend?''
''Yes.'' No. ''I'm positive.'' Lie.
''Calm down Lacey, it was just a question.''
''Sorry.'' He kissed my head and walked out.
''Done!'' I heard my mom squeal. She is really crazy, but I love her. ''Come on sweetie.'' She took my hand and dragged me out the house and into her car.
''What's the rush?'' I asked as she turned a corner. She was driving like a maniac for Christs sake. Did she even know where he lived?
She turned one final corner before parking in front of a small house. ''How do you know where he lives?''
''I have my ways.'' I was now freaked out. We walked to the door and I tapped softly. It opened with a breeze to the face and saw Chase standing there . . . in a tux? ''Hello again Chase. I was just dropping my daughter off.''
''I guess I'll take her from you now ma'am, thank you.'' I stepped closer to him. Chase gave me a small smile and wrapped his arm around my waist.
''Well I'll see at home tomorrow sweetie.'' Tomorrow? I remembered the bag. That sneaky-
''Shall we get inside now?'' Chase whispered against my ear. I nodded and closed the door. ''So I guess you didn't realize you were staying here tonight?''
''I thought it was strange why my mom would want to pack a bag.'' He walked us over to the dining room and noticed the only light was about fifty candles everywhere. ''You did this?'' I asked, touched by how much effort he put in this.
