I was slightly confused when I saw her mother. Sure she was very pretty, but I couldn't picture her as the girl or woman I have been talking to.
''Do you mind staring at my wife?!'' Lacey's farther growled at me. Which made me curious more. He knew what she had done yet he is still by her side.
''Sorry Mr Cook. I just can't believe this was the same woman who had lied to me.'' Everyone's mouths dropped open. Probably thinking that I wouldn't of brought it up.
''Excuse me?'' The woman- who I hated at this moment- asked.
''Don't lie to me again. Pretending to be your daughter, and ignoring the fact that she was getting bullied. What kind of mother are you?!'' Finally the words were out. I felt as if I had just dropped a heavy weight.
''How dare you say that about my wife!''
''I have never met or talked to you in my life. Why are you accusing me of this?'' Mrs Cook started to cry. It wasn't one of those cries to get attention, but a natural one. She was the emotion type, but the girl I talked to didn't, well not when she was actually with someone.
''I'm sorry.'' Lacey whispered. Why was she sorry? She was the victim in all of this- well apart from me.
''Why are you sorry?'' Her farther asked, slightly worried. He was hugging the crying woman rubbing her back gently. Something I wished before all this. I wanted to be the one to hold her, not him.
''I lied.''
''I don't understand.'' I said, what did she lie about?
''My mother wasn't really the one who had been talking to you. It was me, but once I found out you were my teacher, I had to end it. I couldn't let you loose your job. Kale came up with the idea of saying it was my mom but we didn't think it would be bad. I'm so sorry.'' She ran out of the room crying while her mother ran after her. I was utterly speechless.
''Will you explain to me what the heck is going on?!'' His chocolate brown eyes darkened in anger. I pinched the bridge of my nose and tried to think.
''It's seems that I've been talking to your daughter for the past two years.'' Maybe that was the wrong thing to say, but I couldn't lie to him. I don't like being lied to.
He didn't say anything, just rubbed his temples. ''This is so messed up.''
''I know.'' I agreed.
''So Lacey said that it was my wife pretending to be her so that it why you yelled at my wife?''
''Yes.''
''Wait, she tried to end it because you were her teacher?'' He raised a brow.
''Yeah I guess.'' He started laughing. It really wasn't funny.
''Sorry, it feels just like deja vu.''
''Huh?''
''Me and my wife,'' He started off, trying to choke down another laugh. ''She was my student when we came here.''
