Song on the side
Why couldn't he let go of my hand? Didn't he realize that I crave the touch of his lips so much? That every time he touched me in anyway I felt like I was about to faint?
I noticed he moved forward just before the ride jerked. I wasn't sure if I liked that or not. All the way through the ride, he held my hand tight, itching himself forward every so often.
''So what you think?'' He asked once we walked away from the ride. I guess it was alright, not scary, but not boring either.
''Fine. I didn't expect when the hand reached out and grabbed my ankle though.'' I frowned. I had jumped right onto Chase's lap.
''I quite like that part.'' Of course he did, he got to hold me.
''Whatever lover boy." I looked around scanning the not so crowded fair. It was actually amazing that he had brought me here.
''What do you want to do next?'' He asked, keeping a tight grip on my hand.
''What about . . . '' I looked around and saw a small pond. ''Can we feed the ducks?'' I asked, jumping slightly.
''You and birds.'' He shook his head jokingly as he led me over to the pond.
''I love penguins, not ducks.'' I stared
''Penguins are killers.'' I punched his arm lightly.
''Don't insult penguins. They are awesome and you know it.''
''They are awesome because they slide everywhere, but did you know that if a baby penguin stands off his parents feet, the other penguins tackle it and kill them?''
''Yes I did know that. And once again, I have a mental image of a baby penguin being squished to death thanks to you.''
''I'm sorry angel.''
''I guess I can forgive you. Since you are my best friend.''
''Even more that Kale . . . and Charlotte?'' Could I sense jealously in his tone?
''First of all, her name is Lottie, not Charlotte. And are you jealous of Kale?'' I asked, raising a brow exactingly.
''Of course I am. He can actually be with you.'' I frowned and Chase saw it. ''I didn't me-''
''No he can't. He likes Lottie. Not me.'' I felt slightly hurt the way he had used me to see if he had a reaction. I felt like I had been used for an experiment ''No one likes me.'' I mumbled, hopefully he didn't hear me because he would only disagree.
''I saw what happened in the cafeteria that day and I'm sorry he used you.'' We were at the pond now. ''I like you.''
''You would say that.''
''But I mean it.''
''Let's not talk about this.'' I tried to pull him forward but he stopped. ''Chase you don't have to be scared."
''Easy for you to say.'' He mumbled. He had a fear of water for a year now and he wouldn't over come it.
''If you did fall in, he would only go up to your knees.'' I tried to sooth him by making circles on his back.
''I don't care. I don't want to go.'' I sighed and nodded. Of course it was going to be hard for him to get over it. After what had happened, he was still torched about drowning.
