So someone has helped me and so yeah, here it is(:

Paul's POV:

Ten years ago........

"Ready or not, here I cooooome!" I called out to Laura.

I crept slowly behind the dryer, and peered closely at the tiny pair of feet. I tiptoed quietly so that Laura wouldn't run away and make up an excuse about why she had won instead of me.

I stared at the clump of the colourful yet dirty laundry. Red and orange and green and blue socks were flung about. The pegs had definitely been tripped over, since they were all over the floor near the pile of clothes and I could hear the soft breathing of Laura.

"Raaargh!!" I roared like the monsters that were always hiding under my bed

Laura screamed and pouted, "No fair! You aren't meant to scare me, Paulie. That's breaking the rules."

"Blah blah blah blah blah blah" I drowned out her voice, knowing that that's what annoyed her.

"Say sorry or I'll tell Lacey-Loo that you love her!" Laura threatened, giggling.

"You promised!" I protested.

"Well you promised that you wouldn't hit Caleb anymore because me and Caleb are gonna get married when we grow up. But you still hit him, even though, so your promise doesn't count no more." Laura pointed out, poking her tongue out.

"But that's because I hate him!" I whined, "How come you always wanna hold his hand instead of mine? Aren't I your big brother?"

I was born in March and she was born in April. So that means I'm her big brother. Mommy says I'm a big boy and I need to take care of my little sister, not Caleb!

She giggled, "Bye bye Paulie! I'm telling Lacey-Loo!" And with that she skipped away looking like a fairy, her golden blond hair trailing behind her.

I sighed and walked sadly to my room. It wasn't fair that Lacey didn't like playing with me. Just because I'm a boy, doesn't mean all boys have cooties. Maybe Caleb and Patty, but not me!

I wish me, Laura and Lacy could play hide and seek and video games together. I started to play video games, feeling lonely and catching all the birds, pretending they were Caleb.

I hate him hate him hate him. I hope Santa Claus doesn't put anything in Caleb's stocking. I got up to write a letter about how Caleb is being naughty, since mommy knew Santa's address, but then I heard mommy's voice calling to me, "Paulie! Paulie, honey will you get down here please?"

"Yes mommy." I replied feeling cheerful.

I ran down the stairs and felt a bit mean because mommy always told me to walk down the stairs slowly so there's no accident.

"Hello there, Paulie!" My mommy greeted smiling at me. "Look what I made for you." She pointed at gingerbread men and I hugged her tightly.

"You're the best mommy in the world." I whispered.

Mommy laughed and said "Oh well in that case, I don't really need to ask you to help with the icing..."

"No, no, no. It's okay mommy! You're the best mommy in the world but if you let me help with the icing, you'll be the bestest mommy in the world."

Mommy was still laughing and said, "Okay, but you wouldn't really want to lick the icing bowl, would you?"

"Mommy!" I laughed, "Of course I do! But can I call Laura first?"

"Sure thing, honey. But make sure you bring your little friend Lacey as well." She tickled me and I was now laughing even harder since I was very very very ticklish.

One time, when I was really little, last year, I peed my pants because Laura kept tickling me, but it's a secret and mommy, daddy and, Lacey and Laura promised not to tell.

"Bye mommy!" I called after kissing her on the cheek.

"Bye honey!" Mommy answered back.

I remembered that Laura and Lacey were talking about a new secret hideout the other day, so maybe they were gonna be there.

The dark old warehouse was a teeny weeny bit scary, but I'm a strong boy and eat my spinach like Popeye, so I didn't get scared a lot.

"Laura, Lacey... Mommy said to come lick the icing bowl and help with the icing..." I called, expectantly. They were probably playing Moms and Dads or Princesses.

I walked in the dark place, to see a scary-looking man hitting Laura with a knife. Mommy said knives were dangerous, and Laura looked like she was hurting. I don't think even a spiderman bandaid would help.

I saw Lacey and she was staring at Laura. She didn't even scream for help, like how they taught us at school.

I started crying and didn't care if Lacey would tell everyone I was a cry-baby. Lacey was being awful, and no-one, and I mean no one was allowed to be mean to my little sister.

Then I ran outside, hot tears streaming down my cheeks, and screamed for help. But I lied. I already knew it was too late.

My sister would never have the chance to live, or marry Caleb or become a Princess and a mommy.

It was all Lacey's fault. And if I lied to myself enough, it was entirely Lacey's fault.

*~*~*~*~*

I still remember that awful day. Watching as my sister's lifeless soul left her body. I was kind of immature then, just blaming Lacey.

She was only young herself, and she would never intentionally want to see Laura hurt either. Anyone would be in that state seeing their best friend die in front of their eyes.

"Paul?" I actually miss my small name. Paulie. Sure it sounded like a girl's name, but it brought so many memories.

"Yeah mom?"

"I want you to be nice to Lacey on Monday. It's not fair for you to hurt her so much. Her farther has called and Lacey remembers. So starting Monday, you will be her best friend. Just like Laura would have."

"I was going to anyway. I shouldn't have bullied her mom, I know that."

"Good. She has already has a hard time with her eating disorder."

She left the room, me astonished.
