Dedicated to this person because she really made me laugh yesterday:D
***A week later***
I walked into the terminal with my best friend Porter, excitement bubbling inside of me. ''You ready for America man?'' He asked giving the lady our tickets.
''Yes!'' I answered- maybe a little too enthusiastically. Porter was like a brother to me and knew all about my life- including Lacey.
''Dude, you're whipped and you don't even know her last name.'' He teased, punching me in the arm. The woman behind the desk glared at him as he said the words. She had been trying to flirt with me since I walked through the doors of the airport.
''You don't know her like I do. She so sweet and smart and kind . . . '' And the list could go on and on. I may not know what she looked like, but looking behind her face is better. I know everything about her- well I think I do.
She knew everything about me apart from the feelings I have for her. Sure I told her I loved her, but she could just think I was just saying it to cheer her up.
''What if she's ugly? or a guy with a chicks body and voice?'' I just shoved him away, disgusted that he would actually think that.
''If she's ugly, then I would still try and be with her, and I doubt that she is a man.'' He was crazy to think that. He haden't had a conversation with her like I have. He hadn't heard her beautiful angelic voice.
''Ok, Ok, maybe that was a little extreme about the guy bit, but what if she is secretly married?'' She woudn't lie to me would she?
''Dude, I was so happy and excited, you just had to put a downer on me.'' I said, shoving him again.
''I just don't want you to get broken again man, you were so upset about Lauren that you refused to come out of your apartment.''
''Whatever. The past is the past.''
''Flight 21 has been delayed for a twenty four hours, I'm sorry for the inconvenience.''
''You have go to be kidding me!'' I growled.
''Dude, calm down. It's just another day.''
''Another day away from Lacey.'' I muttered to myself.
''Have you told her yet?''
''Told her what?''
''That you're actually coming down?''
''Yeah, just not when.''
''So what are you planning to do? Just appear to her house with a ring and flowers, asking for marriage?'' He teased.
''You seriously have problems.'' I said punching him in the arm. ''I'm going to give Lacey a quick call.'' I said while walking off.
I dialled her number on my iPhone 3g s and waited for her to reply. She should be at dinner by now. I'm glad she was eighteen. I wouldn't force her into anything, but at least it's legal to be with her.
''Hello?'' Lacey's voice was different, like she had just lost her voice.
''Hey beautiful, it's just me, are you okay?'' I was so worried about her lately. She had been fighting the flu all week and it sounds like she still hasn't got rid of it.
''I'm fine.'' I still didn't believe her, her voice was so dry and barely audible. ''How are you doing?''
''I'm good. You still got the flu?''
''Yeah, but it's getting better.''
''That's good. Did you get the presents I sent you?'' I sent her flowers, cupcakes, a small teddy bear with a rose in it's hand and a get well soon card.
