My eyes kept glancing to the girl next to me.
My girlfriend. Mine.
I have my arm draped around her as she leans into me. Her legs pulled to her chest and her arms looped around my waist. I let her choose the film, and she's already falling asleep at it. It's one of her favourite films, and her eyes are drooping, and her grip on me was loosening.
She was very tired though. Her legs were aching, so I had to help her on the couch. Even though her body has recovered, for three months now, it still hurts her, her whole body shuts down sometimes and her scars are faintly there, the ones on her stomach is always going to be there, but she's getting better.
"Wake up sleepy head," I shake her arm, and even though her eyes are open slightly, she's still out of it. Shifting around, I stand up, and pick her up with me. She's be not sleeping well lately, but who can blame her.
She's been super busy catching up on final exams and everything, but she isn't alone. I've been helping her in all the things I know, all her family has, and other people at the school has too.
School has finished now, but she was allowed to re-sit them because of certain situations. They understood and is letting her do them three months later. She just has one more to do, and then I think she has done them all. And I'm pretty sure, she's passed them all. Her prom is in a few days, and I have an idea how to do it. Everyone knows about our relationship, and since we haven't had sex yet, and she is over 18, they can't do anything about it. So we can be open now. I'm happy, and she's moving on. She hasn't harmed herself in so long; and I'm so proud of her. I remind her every day how proud of her I am, and even though she looks away, I can tell she loves and appreciates the constant compliment on it.
"I missed the whole movie?! You should of woke me up."
"You looked too cute, plus, I did try, but you just shrugged me away." A look of regret met her face and I frowned. Before she could say sorry for no reason, I quickly carried on; "Want me to play it again?" Love and appreciation meets my eyes, and she smile.
"You would actually play it all again because I missed it?" I nodded yes and she gave me a quick kiss, before pulling away, blushing. She's too cute.
The theme tune to Nightmare Before Christmas came on and she started singing along. Her beautiful voice filling the room. "Lacey, have you ever considered doing anything with your voice?" It's too good to put to a waste. She sings around the house, but that's it.
"You know I don't have the confidence to sing in front of other people." She says, not taking her eyes off of the screen, while eating the chewy sweet popcorn.
"But if you post a video on YouTube, with you singing, you can only show your lips, or make a movie maker or something with pictures of lyrics or whatever. I just don't want you to waste your talent." I can her eyes look down and she frowns. I know she doesn't like compliments, but she's been told many times.
"I don't know . . ." I kissed her head and switched conversations. I could tell she was uncomfortable.
"So have you done all your exams?" I ask.
