CHAPTER 8: Gotchya!!

I didn't get a chance to see Elona this morning before she left. I had hoped to start winning her over by offering a gesture in taking her to school and while on the way, grabbing some breakfast and coffee but she got up earlier, probably to try and avoid me.

I was trying to think all morning about what to do and today, my pack and I were gonna stay at a place I rented late last night that we can stay at until I think of how to finish this deal and make it final with Mikaela and her parents but of course, doing it as far away from her as possible.

Today they were heading over and all I could think about was doing something that would impress Elona enough to have her go on a date tonight with me but I couldn't come up with anything.

Then while driving towards our new place, I notice out the corner of my eye, Zion texting on his phone to Tasha.

"Isn't she in class?" I ask.

"Yeah but she wanted me to bring her and Elona something to eat since they forgot their lunch and she wants to have lunch with me." He says.

"Damn, I never thought I'd ever see the day that I would see you act like this over a girl." I chuckle.

"Me neither to be honest. I used to not believe in the whole mate thing but what can I say, it's real." He says.

"Yeah." I say under my breath as I feel bad that I blew the chance to be with mine. Not to mention she's with that Klein guy.

"Don't worry man, she'll come around." He says.

"What if she doesn't? What if this is my punishment for ever rejecting her in the first place and Klein is her mate?!" I tell him.

"What? Klein and her aren't dating." He tells me.

"I thought they were." I asked confused.

"Oh hell no. He's gay man. His boyfriend is Ricky." He tells me.

"What?! How the hell do you know that?" I asked curious.

"Tasha told me the other night that because Elona was crying and was upset from seeing you when we arrived, Tasha thought it'd be funny to make you believe that her and Klein were dating." He begins to laugh before looking at his phone again as he was just messaged.

Wait! Hold up! So Tasha and Elona were messing with me and testing my jealousy?" I asked.

"Yeah." He replies.

"And why in the hell didn't you ever tell me that?!" I asked feeling a bit frustrated.

"Because you deserved it for ever rejecting her in the first place. Besides, it was hilarious." He starts to laugh.

"Yeah yeah." I rolled my eyes.

"So anyways, you think I can get them lunch and you drop me off at the school then I'll head back afterwards?" He asks.

"Sure." I shrug my shoulders but then quickly came up with a better idea. "I've got something better. I'm coming with you but in the meantime, I need you to tell Tasha to have Klein message me. I have a plan of my own."

"Okay?..." He says uncertain.

I let him and Tasha in on the plan and they both were on board right away since Tasha thought it'd be best that Elona comes to terms with everything and the feelings she still has towards me.

We get to the school after getting the food and I mind link Klein to meet me outside and go over the plan with him, after apologizing first of course.

He laughs and agrees it'll be great and fun. This was gonna work, at least, I hoped.

The bell finally rang and it was time for lunch and after walking up to them and sitting down to eat, I could hear Klein mind linking me and letting me know he's coming. Then things happened. We pretended to argue and I acted as though I was gonna punch him until I heard her scream loudly and catch everybody's attention around the quad.

"STOP IT!!" She screamed.

We all froze there for a moment and we could tell she was upset in which we all rarely ever saw her get. She glares at me and stomps over towards my way and slaps me.

"You are such an asshole! You have no right to act so jealous and possessive like you have been! And for your information, HE'S our good friend and oh, that's right, he's GAY!" She shouts at me and we all look at each other and then back at her still in shock, then we all break out into laughter while everyone else that were watching went off and minded their own businesses again and our laughter quickly faded as we saw her still glaring at me. I couldn't stop myself from grinning along with Klein, Ricky, Tasha and Zion at her.

She looks at all of us confused and wondering what was going on.

"Gotchya!" I grin even bigger.

"What?!" She still seems confused. "You knew?"

"Well, not until an hour ago but yeah. I figured it out." I tell her while trying to keep myself from wanting to laugh. "And since I know you're single, and have nothing else better to do, after school I'm gonna pick you up and we're gonna go out." I tell her.

"Pfft. I'm not going out with you, crazy." She says as she folds her arms over her chest.

I walk closer towards her and then wrap my arm around her waist and help her stand as she almost loses her balance while I pull her closer to me.

"I am crazy.....for you." I tell her. "Please, let me take you out tonight." I start to plead a little at the end.

I can tell by the way she takes a nervous gulp, she wants to and doesn't know what to do right now.

"Okay." She kind of says with ease but yet eagerness at the same time.

"Good." I tell her as my lips are now centimeters from hers and teasing her in making her want to kiss me. That's when I let her go and step back. "I'll see you in a few hours." I wink at her and both me and Zion leave after he of course says 'goodbye' to Tasha.

Tonight is gonna be a great night. She'll HAVE to at least try and give me another chance.
