CHAPTER 15: Him And His Father

Damn! I know that I have heard it's hard to impress your partner's parents but wow! Didn't see that coming. However, I did appreciate that Darren stood up for me. Then again, on the other hand, it's sad about his mother and then to have to deal with his father that acts like that, it must not have been easy growing up.

I tried to put that in the back of my mind and Darren has helped make sure that I wasn't to worry about his dad and to focus on us.

So once we finished sleeping in the next morning, we finally got up, got dressed, grabbed some breakfast and went over the plan for not just the day but also, him training me and my wolf.

"So, what do we have planned for today, Alpha?" I ask him.

He looks at me and smiles.

"I love the way you say that." He winks and kisses me which makes me blush.

"Come on you two, I'd like to keep down my breakfast if that's alright." Tasha teases.

"Well, we need to come up with a plan first in how to try and bring Michaela and her dad to here so that my dad can be happy and then the council can deal with them both for good." Darren suggests.

I swallow the big lump in my throat as I start to get an awful sick feeling in my stomach at just the mentioning of them two.

"Why do we have to do it? Why can't your father do it?" I ask him.

Before he could answer we heard a deeper older man's voice come from behind us into the kitchen. It was of course, his father.

"Because my dear, I am an Elder of the council and we have Alpha's to do that. Not to mention, this was my son's original assignment." His father states with much distaste.

"That's enough dad." I hear Darren tell his dad through clenched teeth.

"It's not my fault you brought her into this JUST now." He smirks at Darren.

Okay seriously? What the hell is his father's problem with me?! Is he ashamed to have a future daughter-in-law that doesn't fit his image? I mean really, no excuse.

I don't do or say anything though and instead just continue to drink from my coffee nonchalantly and let them talk it out or whatever they do.

"Let's go guys." Darren says with clenched jaw.

As he puts his hand on the center of my back and begins to escort me outside to his motorcycle and hands me a helmet before I get on the back to hold onto him and both us as well as Tasha and Zion start heading off to wherever we are going. Since we never discuss that.

Several minutes later, we ended up parking by the curb in town and once we got off, Darren took my hand and we all started to walk down the sidewalk past several shops with me and Darren hand-in-hand.

"Are you okay?" I ask him.

"I'm fine. Let's just enjoy today and get you some stuff." He tells me with a smile.

I can tell he is really bothered right now with what happened between last night and just moments ago with his dad as well as I'm sure years and years of such hostility with each other. However, I leave it alone for now.

We ended up going to a few shops and as uncomfortable as I felt, I quickly felt forced to not feel bad getting more than a few outfits when Darren started to tell me he was going to start grabbing random things for me and the things he did grab were terrible. So I caved in and picked several more things out.

We all then went out to lunch and then by the time we returned back home, his dad was apparently gone to a council meeting.

While putting my things away and as Tasha and Zion both were out back hanging out with each other, Darren was helping put things away

"Darren?" I ask.

"Yes love?" He replies. I love it when he calls me that.

"Do you mind if I ask why you and your father have a strain relationship?" I asked.

I see him stop and hear him sigh a little.

"It's a long story." He begins.

"Well, I'm a good listener and I have all the time in the world." I tell him as we take a seat next to each other on the bed.

He then begins.......
