"I had to beg Harry to let us come without the bodyguards. I didn't want people looking at us like we're some type of celebrities or royalties. I just want a peaceful shopping day with two of my favorite ladies," I said to my mom and Ms. Anne.
"It was nice of Harry to take your dad with him, so we can have some bonding time," my mom said as we walked into a clothing store.
"Was that your idea or Harry's?" Anne asked me as she started looking around at the items in the store.
"It was all Harry's. He thought if he took my dad to see the type of work he does it would get him off his back about not knowing what his "real job" was," I said making air quotations with my fingers.
"What is Harry showing him?" Anne questioned with suspicion. I know she's wondering if Harry is seriously showing my dad that his true job is drug cartel.
"He's showing him a few of the clubs and restaurants he owns here in Tokyo and how the money is transferred to him."
"That's cute, they're bonding. Father and son-in-law time," Anne said with a squeal.
"You know I didn't even know Harry spoke Japanese until today," I said while examining a pair of jeans.
"I didn't either," Anne says and then adds, "that boy is full of many surprises and secrets. His father taught him well. I hate it so much sometimes," she finishes with a sad sigh.
A comfortable silence fell between us. It wasn't awkward we were all just focusing on finding cute clothes. I picked up a tight black dress and held it up to my body.
"Soon I won't be able to fit into stuff like this. I really can't believe this is happening. We're going to have a baby. Our own baby," tears started to fill my eyes as I rubbed my flat, and slightly pudgy, tummy that would eventually hold a baby snug and warm.
