1. Who is your favorite female character(s) in a published book?

Flavia and Ness from The Lantern Bearers, by Rosemary Sutcliff. So much vivacity and fierceness in them both.

Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen. How can one NOT?

Mara from Mara, Daughter of the Nile by Eloise Jarvis McGraw. Mara is the most immediate, most believable, most winning female character I've ever read. And, like, I ship the romance in that story so hard. The only other ships I fangirl like that over are on Wattpad.

Nerdanel, Galadriel, and Haleth from The Silmarillion. Got to have those strong independent lasses. XD

Éowyn from The Lord of the Rings. And no, not because she's a girl who goes and fights, but because she realizes in the end that war and fighting aren't the most important things out there. That's her actual character arc, and one that I feel a lot of people miss in their excitement over finding a girl with armor and a sword.

Irene (Attolia) from The Thief and following books by Megan Whalen Turner. I read these late last year and freaking loved them. Such clever plots and even more memorable characters.

2. Who is your favorite male character(s) in a published book?

Young Fu from Young Fu of the Upper Yangtze, by Elizabeth Foreman Lewis. This boy is the most lovable, relatable apprentice coppersmith ever.

Johnny Tremain in the book of the same name. Speaking of -smith apprentices. I adore this entire book and Johnny in particular so, so much.

Jean Valjean in Lés Misérables. Iconic with good reason.

Hylas in The Ides of April, by Mary Ray. A smol brave bean.

Murtagh in the Inheritance Cycle. Because as much as I dislike Eragon & the subsequent books, Murtagh was the most believable, relatable, and likeable character, and didn't deserve the half of what he got.

Phaedrus in Mark of the Horse Lord, by Rosemary Sutcliff. An example of stunning character development. Dynamic, fully human, flawed, and shining.

Fëanor and Beren from The Silmarillion. You love Fëanor some, you hate him some. What a guy. As for Beren, I mean, the man is EPIC. Never mind the whole one-hand deal -- what about becoming the Big Mean Bogey-man to all the orcs in the region after his father died? Also Maedhros. Maedhros gets ALL THE LOVE.

Eugenides in The Thief and following books by Megan Whalen Turner.

I think it's evident I could keep going on for awhile, but in the interest of, well, interest, I should cut it short.

3. Who is your favorite female character(s) on Wattpad?

Yesssssssssss *rubs hands together*

*stares blankly at the mountain of characters* Night, you're out to make me stay up till 2 a.m. again, aren't you?

Well, they're not on Wattpad anymore, but that's not going to stop me from listing Elowyn Blackwood and Ren Draven from the 7th Realm series by nightwraith17 herself.

Riniel from The Silverleaf by SunnyTreasures

Eve from the Airequalmë by Silmarilz1701
