"Seriously?" I swallowed, nervously. "Yeah" Luke blushed. "But you should know that I would never get in between you and Ashton's relationship. I'm not like that" he finished.
"Thanks" I mumbled. "No problem" he coughed. At least in his arm, usually guys just cough out in the open. He's polite.
"Thanks" I mumbled again. "For what?" he asked.
"Usually guys cough out in the open. You coughed in your arm" I confronted. "Oh, yeah. I think that's really gross if people don't cough in their arm" he flinched at the thought of it.
I giggled. "Well, since that is cleared up, let's go back inside" I raised my thumb behind me, motioning it towards the door.
He nodded and smiled. I have to admit, every single time Luke smiled at me, it made me feel safe, cared and most of all, loved. I love his smiles. Any girl would. I just don't see why he wants to like me.
Why would he like me?
"Hey Ash" I say down. "Heh" he mumbled, tapping his thumbs on his phone, texting someone. Even though I say right next to him, I didn't want to by nosy and see who he was texting.
"What's up" I decided to say. "The waitress came and gave the drinks, she's coming back in a few seconds to take our food order" he said, never looking up from his phone. I found my ice tea right in front of me, my notin watering for the taste of sweet tea.
I took a sip, flinching at the coldness against my teeth.
I looked in front of me, Luke has his eyes on his drink. He looked like he was in a trance of thought.
I felt the edges of my lips etch up at the sight of him.
"So what are you guys going to have?" Ashton spoke up, breaking the silence.
"I'm going to have a BLT. It looks really good" I rubbed my belly, that was grumbling like crazy. Luke chuckled and continued on.
"I'm going to have a hamburger" Luke said, followed by a faint chuckle.
I smiled and Luke returned it.
"My I take your order?" the same blonde waitress came over to take our order.
She mostly ignored Luke, but had to talk to him to get his order. Usually, she would get annoyed when he talk. She would roll her eyes, pretend yawn, that kind of stuff.
"Thanks" she turned to me. I nodded my head and she left. Disappearing into the kitchen.
"She really is mad at you dude" Ashton wrapped his arm around my shoulders.
I smiled but it fainted when I looked up at Luke's frown. He continued on anyways.
"Eh. Girls are girls" he mumbled. "Remember, girls are better than guys. That lesson will get you very far in life" Ashton chuckled. "He's right" I said.
Ashton and I both turned to each other's faces and smiled. I wanted to kiss him so bad. But I didn't.
"Here you go" the waitress put down the three meals on the table. I mumbled a thanks before she left and she politely returned the smile.
"This looks so good" I took ahold of my sandwich, getting ready to take a bite out of it.
A little while after, we all finished our meals and drinks, heading out to my place.
"What do you guys want to do?" I whined, slouching myself on my couch, finally getting home from a two minute walk.
"I don't know" Ashton sat next to me. "My parents are on vacation now. With Kevin" I sighed. "They probably left you here because they knew you wanted to spend time with your boyfriend and your best friend" Luke sat on the other side of me.
"Probably" I replied.
"Do you guys know what I'm think of?" I asked, a huge grin spread across my face.
"Either mall or pool" Ashton said. "Hmmm. I was thinking mall. But now that you said pool, it sounds fun" I said.
"How about mall then pool" Luke spoke up. "Yes!" I jumped up from the couch, reaching my hand out for Ashton to take.
Ashton took my gesture and Luke followed outside with us.
"Emma!" a too familiar voice hollered for me. Or I should really say, squealed.
