"Luke, why did you tell me that this morning?" I asked, walking with Luke to the park.
"What do you mean? What did I say?" he asked. I could tell he really didn't know what I was talking about. "You don't know?" I asked.
"No. What did I say?" he asked again. "Never mind" I mumbled.
"Ok?" he chuckled. I smiled but we kept on walking.
"If I said anything about you being beautiful, I meant it" he blurted out.
"What?" I asked. "You heard me Diamond. If I said anything about you being beautiful, I meant it" he repeated, his words getting tangled up in my mind. I just couldn't think straight.
"Thanks" I mumbled. "Were here" I could tell he wanted to change the subject, so I continued on after that.
"So, how's Natalie?" I asked. "What do you mean?" he asked. "I know that you and Natalie have a thing" I said.
"Me, and Natalie?" He asked, finishing off with a huge laugh.
"You really think I would date Natalie?" he asked. "Yeah, I mean, yesterday you guys really were flirting and all" I stated, sitting down on a swing as Luke leaned against the pole with both hands deep in his pockets.
"Flirting? I was being a friend Emma" he smirked. "Really? That's a bowl of crap. I know you two have a little thing. If it's not, it was a fling" I pushed the swing, making it lightly push back and forth.
Luke just stood there, smiling at me as if he had lost something and needs it back. Not wants it back. Needs it.
"What?" I decided to say. "Your just very- never mind" his head drifted off to the ground next to him.
"Oh" was all I said. "Yeah"
I was very silent and awkward after that. We really didn't talk. Neither of us didn't know what to say.
"I think I should head back home" I said. "Yeah, me too" he coughed a little in his sleeve.
We headed out of the abandoned park and continued out journey to our homes.
"Your very strange Luke Hemmings" I waved goodbye to him after I said that, followed by a polite kiss on the cheek.
I didn't know what else to do.
"I'm home!" My voice echoed through the house.
"Hello sweety" my father walked pass me, with a newspaper in hand.
I didn't reply instead I headed in the kitchen, where the food is. And that's where my stomach wants to take me.
"Hmmm. Grapes or ice-cream" I asked myself over and over again until I chose to eat ice-cream.
What? Don't judge! I need to eat this for my too skinny body.
I sat down on my couch, with my cookie dough ice-cream in hand. I reached for the remote but my mom already beat me to it.
"I need to watch the news first" she said. "Ugh fine" I gave in.
"There has been a very tragic event here. Behind me shows two cars that crashed just an hour ago. Matthew Gonzalez and Rebecca Smith both died in the car crash. Police say that the crash happened because of drunk driver. This drunk driver hit the car with both teenagers inside" the news lady said.
When they showed the pictures, my mouth dropped instantly. I felt like I wanted to cry. Yes, they were both kind of mean to me, but they are still people that I knew.
I just say them yesterday. Just yesterday.
"Isn't that your friends Emma?" my mom looked so pale, like she has seen a ghost.
"They weren't my friends. I just knew them" I mumbled. "I have to go" I shot right off of the couch, leaving with my ice-cream.
I slammed my bedroom door shut.
I placed my ice-cream down on my night stand and started to pace back and forth.
I heard buzzes come from my phone. I picked it up to see that Luke was calling.
"H-Hello?" I stuttered.
"Emma? Are you ok? I heard the news. I heard what happened to Rebecca and Matt" he said.
"Me too. I can't believe it. Yes, they were mean to us. But it's the thought that we did know them. We talked to them just yesterday" I finished.
"I know. It's sad" I could hear the sadness in his voice.
"I wonder how Natalie is taking this" I asked.
"She actually called me and told me the news. She was very sad, but wanted to seem happy that he was gone. She kept rambling on and on about how he can't hurt her feelings anymore" he said.
"Oh" was all I said.
"Well, I'll let you go, but can we text?" He asked, so eager to end the call.
"Yeah. Ok" I hung up the phone.
Luke/ So, what's up
Emma/ Just eating some ice-cream and watching tv in my room. Hbu
Luke/ Just laying down on my bed, looking through my phone
Emma/ For what?
Luke/ Nothing. I'm just looking in my social networks is all. Instagram, Vine... That stuff.
Emma/ Cool. I guess.
Luke/ Can I ask u something?
Emma/ Sure
Luke/ Will u be my 'date' to my brothers wedding Monday?
Emma/ Date?
Luke/ Not really. We can just go as friends
Emma/ Sure, I would love to. I have to go shopping now because it's Saturday and I need an outfit
Luke/ Ok? 😂
Emma/ What? Girls need to shop sometimes!
Luke/ Ok, ok princess
Emma/ I'm a princess now?
Luke/ You have always been a princess 😉
Emma/ Then where's my dang prince?
Luke/ It's Ash remember? Your boyfriend
Emma/ Oh yeah
After that, he didn't respond.
I wasn't really dressed for the store, but I had leggings and a sweatshirt. It was good enough.
I grabbed my dad's keys and headed out to Kohl's.
After an hour of looking in each rack for a good dress, I found one. It was perfect.
It was long, to my toes. The first part when down to my belly button. It was blue, sparkly. The color was a deep midnight blue.
The other part was blue still, but a little lighter than the midnight.
It was flowy. If I twirled around, it would wave.
It was just flawless. I decided to wear my sandals that I have at my house. Simple.
When I got home, I ran inside, to my room.
Emma/ I found the perfect dress!!!!!
Luke/ Cool. Can I see?
Emma/ No, u will have to wait and see Monday
Luke/ ok 😞
Emma/ Sorry honey boo boo
Luke/ I ain't no honey boo boo! I'm Captain America
Emma/ Keep dreaming
Luke/ I will
I didn't really respond after that, knowing that conversation on Captain America will go on and on until Monday.
I tossed my phone to my bed.
I just couldn't wait until Monday. To be Luke's date.
