Chapter 19

"Luke?" I heard the door of my hospital room open.

"Yeah, it's me. Did I wake you up?" he whispered.

"Yeah. It's fine. But why are you here?" I asked.

I squinted my eyes to try to see him but failed because the room was just too dark.

"I just wanted to spend the night with you. Just fall asleep next to you. Cause your alone and all"

"Sounds great. C'mon" I patted the empty space next to me.

He came over, pulling the blankets on him.

Luke was so tired, he wrapped his arms around my waist. Pulling me closer. I felt my cheeks burn up. Thankfully it was dark.

"Good night Emma. I love you" he slowly, calmly said. I smiled at his remark.

"Luke, I love you too" then I fell back asleep. Right next to the guy I'm in love with.

My eyes fluttered open. Revealing the bright sun shine against my tired eyes.

I groaned and threw the blankets over.

I didn't feel someone around my waist anymore. Luke was gone.

I lazily ignored it, I remembered not to get out of bed but I had to take off the covers because the room was so hot.

"Morning beautiful" the door flew open, revealing Luke with two cups in his hands.

"Morning" I smiled. "I got your favorite from Dunkin'. Small iced Caramel Swirl" he smiled, handing me my favorite.

He found out my favorite coffee from our little conversation about the little things.

"Thanks" I licked my bottom lip before taking a sip.

"Oh my god this is so good. I needed that" I said.

"Are you feeling any better?" he asked.

"Yeah, I think that pain medicine is working" I took another sip.

"That's good because I need you for tonight" he winked. I started getting scared at his plan.

"Don't try anything with me Hemmings" I tried to sound intimidating and threatening but failed horribly.

He started laughing like crazy. Another thing I loved about him. His laugh. It was so cute.

"I'm not. It's gonna be fun. You will love it" he smirked.

"Fine" I gave in.

"I got some clothes for you. From god house. Your mom actually got them for me" he answered back.

"Thanks" I mumbled.

"No problem. Luke walked over to me and kissed my forehead.

"Everything is going to be ok" he assured me, again.

"I heard" I giggled.

He chuckled but continued to stare into my eyes.

"What" I giggled.

"You just, look so beautiful" he smiled.

I smiled back. "Luke?"

"Yeah Emma?"

"I-I think"

"You think what?" he asked.

"I think I'm in love with you Luke"

He didn't say anything else. He just smiled really brightly and smashed his lips against mine, entering me for an amazing kiss.

"Can you try to walk?" he asked.

I nodded my head, getting myself ready.

My ribs didn't hurt as much now. It was easy for me to get up. Of course, Luke held my arms as I walked.

Soon after, he let go, letting my walk again from a week.

I smiled as I was able to walk. I walked around the room in circles. Again and again and again.

I stopped walking after a while because it kinda got old. I sat back down on my bed.

"Oh my god, it's already two!" Luke screeched as he saw his phone. "Is that a problem?" I chuckled.

"Get changed! We have to be down at the lobby by 2:10!" he was so excited yet so nervous.

"Ok, ok. Get out so I can get dressed" I shoved him out of the room.

I looked for the clothes that he got me. I found them on a chair in the corner of the room.

"Wow" was all I said at the outfit.

It was one of my flowy spring dresses. The whole thing was pink with floral patterns on it.

I slipped off my hospital gown and slipped on the dress. I slipped on sandals that waited for my underneath the chair. Well, sandal because I still had a black cast on my right leg.

I walked out of the room, looking at Luke who was typing away on his phone.

He looked up and smiled.

Luke grabbed my hand and led me to the elevator.

We finally reached the lobby.

"Close your eyes. I'll lead you" he said. I followed his orders and soon after we stopped.

The warm freeze hitting my arms and legs. All I could think about is how I didn't shave my legs. Oh god.

"Open your eyes" I did so and saw a cute little table I'm front of us. I looked around and I didn't see any parking lot. I could see the hospital close by. I'm guessing this is a park or something.

Two trees stood next to the table and chairs with streamers in the trees.

"This is beautiful Luke" I looked around once more. "It's all for you" he said.

I smiled. Luke hurried over to the table, pushing out a chair for me. I nodded my head in a 'thank you' and sat down.

He scurried over to his chair and say down.

The food was already here. Our favorite food. Pasta.

I finished my pasta in a matter of minutes as did Luke.

"I also have another surprise for you" he said, reading under the table.

He placed a bag on the table. He took out our favorite pastry. The chocolate muffins that we had the time I went to that little cafe.

I covered my mouth with my hands in shock. "Luke, you shouldn't have" I smiled.

"I wanted to. I wanted you to remember the time we had together at the cafe" he answered.

"Aww. Luke. Your so sweet" I chuckled.

"There is something else I want to ask you Emma" he said.

"Go ahead. I'm all ears" I smiled.

"Will you be my girlfriend?"
