Lunar Eclipse

Chapter 19

In front of Luna and the kidnapper stood Elijah. He had his gun pointed towards them.

The kidnapper thought quickly, grabbed Luna's hands and put them behind her. He took out his knife in a flash and put it up her throat.

Elijah feared for Luna and he thought the best option was to move back a little.

"Drop your gun or she'll die" the guy demanded. He didn't know any other way out of this.

"Don't! Just shoot him. I'll be fine" Luna stammered but the guy hit her on the head with the knife. She hissed in pain.

"Luna!" Elijah shouted and got closer. He cared about her so much that it hurt him seeing her in this state.

The guy tightened his grip on the knife and got it closer, now it making a red mark on her throat.

"I. said. drop. the. gun" he gritted his teeth, getting really annoyed.

"Okay, okay. I will" Elijah put his hand up and dropped the gun on the floor.

"Kick it" the guy nudged his head towards the gun.

Elijah kicked the gun in the opposite direction.

"Now what?" he asked.

"Now, you're going to leave" as soon as he said that another gunshot was heard.

The guy dropped on the floor clutching his leg. Luna took the knife so she could have something to defend herself with.

From the other side, Lucas emerged with a grin on his face, satisfied that he saved Luna.

Elijah ran to the guy and handcuffed him so he wouldn't escape.

Matthew, who was hiding behind a dumpster, went inside the house to find the other guy still lying down, clutching his stomach. He grabbed him and took him out to the other guy.

Elijah started going towards Luna but Lucas was faster.

"Are you okay?" Lucas asked Luna, cupping her face and looking at it intensely.

"Th-they said... that..." Luna started sniffling "Thay said that my father killed someone" she started crying intensely, collapsing to the floor.

Lucas held her in his arms and rocked her back and forth.

"Shhh. They're lying. He couldn't have done such a thing" he soother her, stroking her hair.

Elijah approached them and crouched down next to them. He mouthed to Lucas, asking him what happened. He just shook his head, signaling him that he'll tell him later.

"Let's go to the office. We need to write a report for this" Elijah whispered, getting up. He didn't want to disturb her.

He knew that something was going on between them but he didn't want to acknowledge it. He thought if he ignored the signs he would feel more confident in telling Luna how he feels. But because he hesitated for so long, he lost her.

"Let's get you to the hospital first," Lucas said, hauling Luna up "You can go with Matthew to do the report" he said to Elijah.

Matthew and Elijah called for backup to take the guys to the hospital too. Then they took the police car and went to the office to write the report.

While Lucas and Luna were in the hospital, Lucas remembered that Luna didn't eaten anything so he went to grab some food for her.

"Open wide. Say ahhh!" he said shoving a spoonful of some soup he got into her mouth.

"You know, I can feed myself. I'm capable of that much" she chuckled gulping the food.

"I know. I just want to feed you myself. I'm afraid something might happen to you again. And I want to take care of you" he confessed and sighed.

"Don't worry. The guys are in jail and they won't be getting out anytime soon" she chuckled and put a hand on top of his, squeezing it. 

He took her hand in his and kissed the back of it. She smiled and thought how lucky she was for having him by her side.

Luna figured it would be the best time to spill her feelings out right now. She gathered the courage and started saying "You came into my life like a flash of light and changed it. Even though we hated each other's guts at the beginning we started warming up to each other-" she chuckled, recalling the cat and dog moments between them "-You turned my life upside down, but in a good way. You helped me numerous times and for that, I'm thankful for having you by my side. And I hope it'll continue in the future."

While saying that Luna was smiling from ear to ear. Lucas listened to her carefully and mimicked her reaction feeling like he was walking on clouds.

"Well, that was a first. Usually, I'm the one confessing my feeling for a girl first-" he chuckled " -Anyway, thank you for saying this. It really means to me. You have no idea how much. And of course we'll continue in the future." he looked at full of emotions that wanted to get out. 

He got closer to her, their foreheads touching. He cupped her face for the second time today.

"I love you" he said smiling, looking intensely in her eyes.

"I love you too" she grinned and smashed her lips into his.
