Lunar Eclipse

Chapter 2

"Hey Luna. Did you find the identity of the robber?" Elijah asked going silently behind her, startling her.

"Jesus Elijah. Make some noise when you move." she said clutching her chest.

"Sorry" he apologized.

"Anyway, I ran the face scanner and it showed more than one person with the same picture but different name."

"What? That can't be" he said looking intensely at the screen she showed to him from the profiles of the couple of people with identical picture.

"One of them must be a fake one." she stated.

"Or he could've been using different names so he could get away with his crimes" Elijah suggested.

A lot of robbers make fake identities so they won't get caught doing their crimes but some of them aren't careful enough and end up getting caught. 

"Yeah, you're right. We have to check every single one of them and see who's the real one and who's a fake one" she sighed realizing the work that was ahead of her. 

"Don't worry. I can do that. I have plenty of free time. You can go watch your Korean dramas and rest home" he said going to his desk.

"Aww, thanks. You're the best" she hugged him from the back, grabbed her backpack and bolted out of the office.

Elijah just chuckled and went back to work.

He stayed for a couple of hours more, still not finding the real robber. 

"I can't do this anymore" he sighed rubbing his face with his palms.

He looked at his wristwatch and saw that it was nearly 3 am. He decided it would be better if he finished his work tomorrow so he turned off the computer, carefully so the files he looked through won't be harmed, put on his coat and went home.

The next day Luna woke up at the crack of dawn getting herself ready for work. When she finished she called Elijah to woke him up because he lived closer to their work. He didn't pick up so she went to his house to find him sleeping on the floor in a fetus position.

"Hey! WAKE UP!" she shouted poking him with her leg. 

"Mrph" he mumbled in the pillow he was hugging.

"We'll be late for work, come on" she said grabbing his hand and hauling him up.

"I'm up, I'm up" he mumbled still half asleep, dropping his precious pillow.

"Go and wash up quickly, I'll be waiting in the kitchen" she says shoving him into the bathroom.

This was a daily routine for her. Elijah has always been a night owl and couldn't wake up in the mornings. Luna, on the other hand, has always been a morning person but she also can be called a half night owl because she can stay late on certain days, it depended on her mood the whole day.

"Let's go" he said, walking towards the front door.

"Aren't you going to eat?" Luna asked getting up from the bar stool.

"Nah, I'm going to grab something on our way to work" he said. "Let's go" he added unlocking the door and getting into his car.

"Did you find the robber yesterday?" Luna asked adjusting on her seat after she entered the car in the driver's seat.

"Well, I tried?" he said smiling innocently.

"So you did not?" Luna confirmed her suspicions.

"Well yeah, but I stayed till late so it must count as almost finding him" 

"Yeah yeah, sure" she said sarcastically.

'I should've stayed and finished my work' she thought.

On their way, they stopped near a shop and Elijah bought some kind of a toast for his breakfast.

They arrived at work and they sat in their place as Luna started working and Elijah was still trying to wake up.

"Send me the rest of the files from the case, I'll finish them. You can work on another case" Luna said checking her mail on the computer.

"Alright. There are like 10-15 more flies I think. I'm going to send them to you right away" he said and turned on his computer.

Their day went by like every other. Luna worked on the files and found out who the robber is and they sent a police patrol to arrest him. Elijah started working on another case that has been on his mind for a while now. It wasn't something big, just a lost phone from his friend.
