"Elijah! Are there still not any news from Luna?" Lucas asked worriedly, peeking from his desk. He was very worried about her. Even though he didn't know her for that long, he felt as if he had a strong connection with her.

"Well actually, we texted each other last night" he chose to let out the fact that the texts were weird.

"What about?" Lucas slid his chair closer to Elijah's desk.

"I just asked her if she needed any help" Elijah said.

"Okay" he returned back to his position.

After a while, Elijah figured it would be better to tell him about the weirdness because he might be of help. He had a conversation with himself for a long time but his logical part won.

"Actually, the texts were kind of different, look" he decided to tell him.

"What do you mean different?" Lucas asked, walking toward him and taking his phone.

"Well, she usually texts with a looot of emojis and stuff but yesterday she didn't. I thought that it was because she felt too sick. But this morning, we texted again and it was the same. It just doesn't seem right" Elijah explained.

"That's weird" Lucas furrowed his eyebrows. They texted about cases too and she sent him emojis, always.

"We need to go to her house" Lucas said and gave back his phone.

"She said not to go" Elijah said. He knew that this wasn't right but still said it to respect her.

"Well, do you want to worry about her all day if she's okay or do you want to see for yourself that she's okay?" Lucas asked annoyed. He really needed to check if she's okay.

"Yeah, we'll go after work" Elijah agreed.

"Alright" Lucas said, getting back to his desk.

Finishing with his work, Lucas headed out.

"Hey! Wait for me" Elijah said, closing some folders on his table. "I'll finish this tomorrow" he thought.

"Come on. Hurry" Lucas nudged him, feeling anxious.

Elijah rolled his eyes and followed him.

As they arrived at her house, they knocked on the door. After a couple of minutes, nobody opened. They continued knocking but it sounded like nobody was home.

"Luna! It's Elijah and Lucas. Open up" Elijah shouted as he continued knocking.

"Maybe she's so sick she can't get up" Lucas suggested, getting more and more worried.

"I don't know. Let me text her" Elijah said, taking out his phone.

Hey, what's up?

Nothing, still sick, lying down, trying not to die haha.

Did anyone come by recently? He was careful with his texts.

No, why?

I just wondered because Miles got sick too. Elijah lied that one of their coworkers got sick.

Nobody came. He started getting more and more suspicious if this is true.

Okay, text me if you need anything.

Alright.

Lucas was reading all of this and looked at Elijah. They both had the same thought as Elijah reached for the spare key hidden in the plant next to the door.

They slowly opened the door, not making any sound.

Elijah gestured to Lucas to go upstairs to see if she's there and he'll look around downstairs.

Lucas headed upstairs and checked every room, not finding anything. He slowly made his way downstairs to meet Elijah.

"She's not upstairs" he said, putting his arms on his hips.

"Not downstairs either" Elijah said.

"Shit" Lucas cursed, licked his lips and started wondering where she is and If she's okay.

"We have to tell Matthew" Elijah stated and went to his car to get back to the office.

They told Matthew the situation and Elijah got an idea.

"We need to search the area she was moving around when she went home from the club" he said.

"You didn't go with her?" Lucas asked in disbelief.

"No, she told me to leave her alone because she needed to think" Elijah answered.

"Are you fucking nuts? Why did you leave her alone at night to go home by herself?" he started shouting.

"She wouldn't let me. I insisted but she said she'll be okay" Elijah started defending himself.

"Is she okay now, huh?" Lucas asked sarcastically.

"Guys, stop. We need to focus" Matthew broke the fight that was rising between the two of them and opened a map.

"Okay, we'll split up. Lucas will go search this area-" Matthew pointed on the east part of the map "-Elijah this area-" he pointed on the west part "-and I'll go here" he pointed to the north.

"Okay" both of them said.

"We'll meet up here after an hour." he said and pointed to the south of the map.

"Alright, let's go" Lucas said and waltzed toward the exit.
